Who could ask for anything more? It even has Franco Nero who in 1965 was still a few years away from superstardom. I saw this picture when I was a child. It freaked me out a bit. The villain is a scientist who is kidnapping people and conducting Frankenstein-type procedures on them in order to create a race of perfect people. Part of his quest for human perfection includes turning himself into a half-male and half-female entity. Of course, if the movie were to be remade today this demented bastard would be the hero instead of the villain. Enjoy.

It was the first of a series set round the space station "Gamma One".
The three sequels were:
The War of the Planets (1966)
War Between the Planets (1966) Snow Devils (1967) (aka Devil Men From Space, Space Devils)
There's also the unofficial loosely connected fifth entry in the series - The Green Slime (1968) (now set on Gamma Three space station)

I think I've seen them all except "Snow Devils." I definitely remember seeing "The Green Slime."

Okay, then how do you know a movie with the villain you’re describing is now being made with him a hero? Do you know it’s true in fact or do you just think it’s true based on no facts? If you read what I wrote you would know that I never said such a movie was being made. I said, "If..."

Okay, then if you know there are no movies like that actually being made, how do you know one would be? What do you base the statement above upon? I base it on how sick society has become and how the movies are reflecting it (if not encouraging it). I'm also thinking that maybe Ivo Shandor was right. It's beyond repair.

So it’s based on what you think is a “sick society” and not evidence? It's beyond repair.Look on on the bright side, you ain’t got much longer. I've got about fifteen or sixteen more years, and they're not going to be fun years.

Straight white males aren't getting every major role in movies these days. Gays, trans, and even WIMMIN, dames, skirts, frails are coming to the fore and being made star leads. GODFREY DANIELS! I can't find this at all on the BBFC database.
It was released in the UK at some point with an X rating, but doesn't look it was seen since.

Its on Amazon. Warner Bros have purchased the rights for it to release through their Archive DVD series. Looks like a US import though.

Does an X rating mean the same thing in the UK as it does in the US? The first X-rated films here were not porn films. I heard "Midnight Cowboy" was rated X, and maybe "Last Tango in Paris" as well. "Alien" was to be rated X on account of gore but some editing dropped it down to an R.

UK X was more like US R rating.
We don't use X anymore.
We have:
U for everyone, equivalent to G. (But we'll ignore the more graphic moments of Star Wars, swearing in E.T., and cute fluffy bunnies being ripped apart in Watership Down)
PG for Parental Guidance. (Never mind Raiders of the Lost Ark has more gore and violence than many higher-rated films, and The Fifth Element goes further than most films at this rating with sex and nudity)
12 for the 12s and aboves (12A in cinemas only - this means anyone under 12 has to have an adult with them) - equivalent to PG-13, mostly.
15 - content can vary wildly, but it tends to equate with the more stronger PG-13 films (Cloverfield, I Am Legend, Alien vs Predator), or mostly mild R-rated films (Terminator 2, Army of Darkness, True Lies), but of late they've allowed some surprisingly strong ones through (Predator, Evil Dead 2, Alien 3).
18 - this normally equates with R-rated films, but nowadays, they have to really push the limits to get this rating. All of Quentin Tarantino's films have been 18-rated, Saw films, Dredd, The Green Mile, American Beauty. These days an 18 is seen as a box office killer. NC-17 rated films will automatically be 18 (The Evil Dead, Showgirls).
R18 - This is reserved for hardcore porn.
Strangely enough - the censors considered lowering the rating for Alien to "AA" (for 14 year olds), but they were uneasy with sexual overtones and imagery, and felt an X rating might actually give it cred as a horror movie.
Nowadays its a 15, equivalent to the AA rating they had earlier considered.
