There's a virus that's devastating the orange groves in Florida plus many groves were badly damaged due to hurricanes, I think this has also happened here in Alabama. Viruses attack anything that is living. We cannot see our worst enemy. I only buy Mandarins and most of those are from Mexico, some of the South American countries and California.

I had no idea that Egypt produced oranges!
Florida is a huge PRODUCER of oranges, but do they export a lot? I would imagine that most of their production is sold in the huge internal US market.

I DIDN'T even know that Egypt had AN orange tree! I thought they'd be TOO DRY (TOO ARID) for one. Given that I know them MOSTLY from Florida, I would THINK they would grow in a more HUMID environment.

I thought Brazil was the number 1 orange producer. I don't eat regular oranges, they upset my stomach but I can eat the mandarins, they're milder.
