Shame, he's been great this season.

Out for a year, is he? In that case, he'll be halfway to 37 when he's fit to play again, eh? I don't know, I'd probably call it a day, but I'd say he'd go off to the Chinese Super League (if they want him) or MLS (again, if the offer's there)

It's a moral dilemma, do you pay his £300k a week wages while he is out for up to a year? If you are making a rational decision, then only a madman would renew that contract in the summer. If he was 25, then of course you renew, you don't want to lose him to another club, at 35 you have to say "adjö" (that's Swedish for goodbye).
I think he is holding back the development of Rashford anyway, and maybe he is holding back Man United with his lack of mobility and statuesque performances. Who is to say that Rashford wouldn't have scored close to 28 goals if he played every minute of every game up front? And Rashford's movement probably would have caused more problems for defences allowing other players to find space and get on the score sheet.
Also, throughout Ibra's career, he has snatched at big chances in big games when they have really mattered.
No, it's a blessing in disguise for Man United.

No, it's a blessing in disguise for Man United. I tend to agree. Shame it couldn't have happened closer to the end of the season though.
