Have you noticed there is a National Day for just about every item of food and drink these days? In fact, today is probably National Day for many different things. And what are we supposed to do on, say, National Coconut Day - go out and buy some? Or if we happen to already have one in the house, to go out and buy another one, or two, or three? Do we trim its hair and put a baseball cap on it and display it in our windows for all to see, or maybe celebrate its day by making gifts of them to our friends and family? I'm sure they'd all be expecting a coconut on this special day as they prepare their own coconuts as gifts to others. All hail the coconut on its National Day. And the doughnut. And the garden pea, the carrot, the leaf that sheaths the corn cob. And any other.
And to each potato chip around the world, whatever flavour you are, however crisp or stale, broken or whole, packed or served up on a plate, we humbly salute you for the pleasure and nourishment you have provided down the decades.

Oh, that's my sin of choice! It's rainy, today. And, I'm trying to stay inside, and wash my hands, to avoid the " you know what." But, maybe I'll venture to the corner store to buy a celebratory bag. I'm already bored ... I might as well sit-and-munch.
