WOO HOO! Free animal horror via Peacock - Beast (2022) - 'A bloodthirsty lion stalks a recently widowed man and his two teenage daughters in South Africa.' 69% Rotten Tomato Score / 77% Popcorn Score Let's Give It A Whirl! That was in theatres just a couple of months ago. Not too bad, but nothing special.

** SPOILERS BELOW!** . . . I lost interest when they were trapped in the jeep
I was like -
I think I've seen this movie before -
It was called 'Cujo'
Turned it off and put on The Exorcist which was on AMC

I might check that one out. I just kinda wanna see the part why Idris Elba punches a lion in the face. Maybe I'll just skip to that moment

Was it last week that we discussed a new list of the best TV shows ever? Anyway, "Fleabag", which I had heard about but never watched, was very high on that list - #6 if I recall correctly. Not all that many episodes and short ones ( < 30 min) at that, so I figured I'd check it out.
The very first episode of the very first season starts with a scene where the humour revolves around anal sex. Call me a prude if you must, but really? That is your opening play? Isn't that kind of lower denominator-ish and juvenile?
I suppose I will watch a few more episodes before I decide whether or not to watch the entire series, but it's NOT off to a good start!

Seems like they're sacrificing clever writing for shock value humor and trying too hard to be edgy. Doesn't bode well for the series if you're dipping into the bottom of the barrel (euphemism?) right out of the gate.

I’ve seen maybe 4 or 5 of these films. What was wrong with the last one? I'm not being negative about it - all of these films I enjoy bits and parts of - I'd love for them to churn one out every year. Love the franchise. Iconic character. That's what it's all about for me. Love Halloween. Just really didn't work for me. ** SPOILERS BELOW ** . . . . . . I guess they needed to go in a different direction, as opposed to rehashing the same movie over and over. They introduced a protege for Michael. Didn't work for me. I guess the thought process was 'Evil Saw Evil' and Michael took him under his wing. Meh. To me Michael is a bada$$ loner and killing machine. An animal. Ever see Alien vs. Predator when fanboys were up in arms that the Predator aligned with a human? Loved that movie too - that part really didn't work for me either. But again - not being overly negative. I got to see an iconic Halloween character in a new movie again - and that's always a plus

I've been too busy these days to get to the theater in a while, and I wanted to see this one with a crowd, but my friend and I were gonna go yesterday and I couldn't make it, so he watched it on 'the cock.' He said he's glad he did and didn't think he could sit through it in a theater again. And he was the biggest defender of Halloween Kills I know. I'm trying to avoid spoilers, I've seen some mild ones, but pretty much any review I saw said that this movie is gonna piss off most fans because it made some wild choices. I'll try to watch it soon and weigh in. Did you watch the new Hellraiser yet?

Hellraiser will be next week with my buddy, looking forward to that one as that series could use a re-start.

Hellraiser will be next week with my buddy, looking forward to that one as that series could use a re-start. Look forward to discussing both as well. Hellraiser was fine. Considering the resources and the director's last film, I expected better. It doesn't seem to re-start as much act as another sequel but with new actors as the cenobites. It didn't do anything new nor did it bring it back to the original material or anything. It was ok, but none of the movies (and even the original novella) have ever fully exploited how good the premise is.

Still holding out for 'Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin' to be free on my package too (not paying for Paramount Plus)
Sounds like you enjoyed it though.
I can see hardcore Halloween fans being upset. I take it for what it's worth. It's entertainment to me. I got to see an epic horror icon again.
Characters just didn't do it for me. Think we were talking about Halloween 4 and I stated I enjoyed it because you found yourself rooting for the protagonists (same way with Friday the 13th Part III for me). Laurie to me has just become an old whiny dullard where I was almost rooting for Michael to end her. Couldn't find myself rooting for her granddaughter either - just unlikable characters.
Could have been worse.
I don't want to say too much to spoil it. Ever see Alien vs. Predator? Where Predator fanboys were going ballistic that the Predator and a human teamed up like Batman and Robin?
I'll just leave it at that -

klawrencio79 masterofallgoonsI want in on the Ends conversation. No spoilers, but I had a blast with this movie. Can't wait to discuss it with you guys, I have a lot to say and I can't wait to hear your respective takes. In the meantime, let me talk about two of the greatest trailers I've ever seen! Saw these trailers back to back right before the movie started, and I have to admit, they probably influenced my enjoyment of Halloween Ends. It was worth the price of admission just to see these two trailers on the big screen. Where do I begin? M3gan is a combination of 10 different horror movies you've already seen, but holy shit does this look like fun. I almost fell out of my seat when the murderbot started dancing. I don't even need to see the movie, the trailer is like the greatest SNL spoof of a horror movie sketch you're ever going to see. "You should probably run." Next up, Violent Night. How the hell did it take until 2022 for this movie to exist?! This is what Fatman (2020) should've been. Can I get tickets to this right now?! The puns! "Season's beatings." "They're on my naughty list." This folks, is why I still go to the movies. What a night.
