Come to think of it, with the exception of the first “Taken” movie, has any of his action movies been particularly memorable? Outside of that one speech is the first Taken movie particularly memorable?

The interrogation scene is dark comedy gold.

I watched a new action movie with Liam Neeson last night – “Memory”, on Amazon. He plays a contract killer who is showing signs of early rapid onset Alzheimer’s. He has one last job to do, but halfway through it he finds out that it involves crossing a line he is not willing to cross. Of course his employer doesn’t take kindly to it, and the body count shoots up. He mostly uses guns in this one instead of physically fighting four or five enemies at a time with nothing but his fists, which is a good thing considering that he is 70 years old. It’s a decent movie that held my attention but it’s not very memorable. Come to think of it, with the exception of the first “Taken” movie, has any of his action movies been particularly memorable? It seems that it is a remake of a Belgian movie from 2002 called “The Memory of a Killer”, which I had never heard about. The Grey was fantastic.
There's a new wolf survival show/movie dropping on Peacock tomorrow night.
Got to dig up the trailer....
** Edit - well apparently this show has been on for a year - where have I been
Commercial for it aired during the Eagles/Cowboys game last night

Just watched Bad Sisters on Apple TV. Thought it was pretty good, 4 out of 5 stars. Whoever played John Paul is forever ruined for me - if I see him in anything else I’ll be like “that’s the prick from Bad Sisters. Fuck that guy!”

They’re all mediocre .. including Taken.

Didn’t really fancy it .. or the premise.

Creed III poster just dropped....
Mass speculation the villain this time is Clubber Lang's (Rocky III) kid
Why not - worked well with Drago's kid in II and this approach has worked with Cobra Kai/Karate Kid

Maybe he can fight the robot from Rocky 4 in the next one. Then it'll be Tommy Gunn's kid in the fifth one.

Also, I thought you were going to say "he has one last job to do, but halfway through it he forgets what it is." The play on words was totally intentional! That's my story and I am sticking to it!

Who today could play Tommy Gunn's kid....

I thought it was. Tension throughout, cathartic dispatching of evil characters, what else could one ask for?

The interrogation scene is dark comedy gold. I haven't seen it in a while, but at the the time I couldn't believe how bored I was by Liam Neeson murdering all of Europe. And I was stunned by how dumb the subplot afterthought with his daughter liking the pop star was.

In spite of my earlier comments about his action movies not being very memorable, I actually enjoyed most of them, even if they kind of blend in together and become difficult to tell apart after a few years.

I actually had a good time with that silly snow plow driver revenge action movie. It's so silly, but this one was intentionally so, more than most of his others.

It's a total throwback to the days where a one man army takes on an entire organization by himself, and has no accountability to any authority whatsoever. I was laughing the entire time. I'm convinced Besson wrote it as a spoof of an American action movie, and nobody got the joke. There must have been 20 threads on the board for that movie about how his daughter behaved like she was mentally challenged. Of course she looked that way, because Maggie Grace was what 25, playing a character clearly written as a 14 year old. It's like a bad remake of Commando. I can't believe the movie exists, but I'm glad it does because it gave us a decade plus of Liam Neeson doing his best late-era Clint Eastwood impression. None of those other movies have been particularly good (I've never even seen the Taken sequels), but they all have at least a couple of classic 'bad ass' moments.

I didn't like that one because it felt like it was trying too hard to make 'characters' out of everyone, like it was a late-90's Tarantino knockoff or something. All the guys in the organization having codenames was just goofy. I did like that one scene where the Native American mobsters go to the hotel and the person at the front desk says, "You need a reservation."

It just felt so dull to me in comparison. Except that popstar subplot. But it says a lot to me that that's what I remember about it, more than all of the actions sequences combined. When I think of Commando I remember more of Arnold's action antics than just he and his daughter hand feeding a deer in the woods in the opening credits. I remember that too, but the rest of it was just as fun. I felt like Taken was just so bland.

Like a Guy Ritchie movie from the last 5 years or so, it was a perfect long flight movie for me.
