Fascinating sad tragic story Here's Part I - WWE Network is offering their video library free for a month, I believe. I stopped watching in 2003, but it’s nice to revisit some of these classic matches and stars.

Being taped and will air over two days.
One of the huge matches - Roman Reigns (he was apparently supposed to get the title) pulled out because of coronavirus scares - now they're scrambling to get an opponent for Champ Goldberg
*** Edit - looks like WWE just chose Braun Strowman to challenge Goldie.
Yawn.
That ain't going to get me to watch folks.

I loved the Leftovers. A good friend also recently started it and we chat about it daily. It has to be surreal watching that show unfold with the backdrop of current events. Do you like it? Finished the first season last night. It's definitely a bit of a mess. And that quote from Family Guy "it insists upon itself" kept running through my mind, because it was really up its own ass at times. The titles and the score are good examples of that. BUT, it's right up my alley, in mood and style. I loved the acting, the directing and most of the writing. I really, really liked it overall. I enjoyed going back to see where Carrie Coon made her name because she is just great. I kinda think it ended more or less perfectly though, and half wish there *hadn't* been 2 more seasons. Ann Dowd is brilliant too, as usual!

Loved the last episode of Star Trek: Picard. Terrific ending.
Definitely a successful show. The new crew are all terrific. Special mention to Santiago Cabrera as the captain of the ship. And Jonathan Frakes as Riker was superb for the few minutes he was on screen.
Even the baddies were pretty decent ... the Vulcan brother and sister in particular. Good jobs by Payton List and Harry Treadaway.

The second season is kind of its own animal, but I loved it as much as the first. And the theme song for it is an improvement:

I'm catching up on Best Picture Nominees from last year. Not counting last years, which I'll get to, I've seen every BP nominee except three. The Patriot (not the Mel Gibson film), which is lost, East Lynne and the White Parade, both of which can only be seen by appointment at UCLA (when I retire...). Kind of a quest/obsession of mine. first time I seen the complete list, I was determined to see them all. Damn Patriot anyway.
Last night was Ford v. Ferrari. Damn, I liked that a lot. Not a fan of auto racing and really no fan of Le Mans, but that was good. I thought Christian Bale deserved an actor nomination. He did well. Just watched Once Upon a Time in ... Hollywood. Seen it before. Not my favorite Tarantino. The scene at Spahn's Movie Ranch was very very good
Now 1917, the one I wanted to see most.

Watching Anaconda on AMC. What a fun flick with an All-Star cast that gets unfairly crapped on by the masses. You've got to take it for what it's worth folks - just a fun summer popcorn flick. Think I'll watch Piranha 3-D next - always get this little baby going during 'Spring Break'

There is a silly French show on Netflix called " A Very Secret Service" which is a pisstaker of the DGSE. A VERY light-hearted look at French Intelligence circa 1960ish. The chief. "Le Colonel" is a ringer for De Gaule and the others are straight out of an 8-year-old's essay on "What kind of people would you find in the secret service". It took me a few episodes to warm to it but it is ideal for passing the time without doing your brain any damage since the episodes only run for a half-hour. More chuckles than LOL but oddly addictive.

I also find myself fascinated by Ramsay's' Kitchen Nightmares. Why anybody would invest in these shitholes let alone eat in them, is beyond me

I have been watching some episodes of a British show that is also a bit silly - Death in Paradise. It was a recommendation from someone over at the Politics board. It's a fun show - murder mysteries in the Caribbean.

I'm going to watch Night of the Living Dead.
Any fans?
One of my favorite horror movies.
I used to pose this question on the old IMDB horror board.
Would anybody else agree - that Ben was really the 'Bad Guy' - and Mr. Cooper actually was the 'Good Guy'?

Mr. Cooper had the right idea all along - wait it out in the cellar.
How many people did Ben get killed with his half-a$$ decision making?
He wanted to be the Alpha which is fine - only problem was all his decisions led to everybody elses deaths including his own.
Found it hysterical when Ben had egg all over his face - i.e. - where does he flea when the chips are down?
The basement!
It was poetic justice what happened to Ben

Retro airings of sports events... I just can't get into that. Me either.
I've tried numerous times - even with my favorite teams.
Does nothing for me.
But I can watch the same movies - i.e. The Shining and JAWS, Night of the Living Dead, Blair Witch, etc over and over and over again.
Odd, eh?
