God bless you and him always!!!

The latest one I attended was Neil Young with special guest Allen Toussaint (R.I.P.) in 2010. Whether or not it's my last one remains to be seen.

The last concert I went to was five months ago. I documented my experience in another thread and am quoting my earlier post below. Last night (10/24/2019) I attended the Lita Ford / Dokken show. Lita Ford:I own Lita Ford's first two albums on one CD. But to be honest, the only reason I own her debut is because I wanted "Dancin' on the Edge" and "Out for Blood" was included on the disc. I previously owned "Dancin' on the Edge" on vinyl. Anyway, the only song from "Dancin' on the Edge" was "Gotta Let Go", which was the opener. The only other songs in her set that I was familar with were her more commercial hits, "Close My Eyes Forever" (Ozzy part sung by guitarist Patrick Kennison) and "Kiss Me Deadly". Despite my relative lack of familarity with her set, Lita Ford and band did a great job. It was clear they were having fun on stage. Given the nearness of the date to Halloween, Lita wore a form-fitting skeleton costume, black background with green bones - basically a full body version of Nigel Tufnel's t-shirt. At one point, Lita asked the crowd, "Do you like my bones?" Great set, high energy from the band. Lita looked incredible and was in great voice; she sounded exactly as I remembered her. Dokken:The only Dokken album I own is Tooth and Nail (on vinyl and CD), and the band's set list included more than half of that album, in set list order: - Without Warning (pre-recorded track as the band took the stage)
- Don't Close Your Eyes
- Into the Fire
- Alone Again
- When Heaven Comes Down
- Tooth and Nail
Despite my greater familiarity with the band's songs, it seemed to take a while for them to warm up, or perhaps for me to warm to their performance. But I was fully on board when they got to "Into the Fire". Dokken and band were fine, but unlike the opening act, their eponymous frontman was definitely showing his age, in terms of appearance, energy, and sadly vocal quality. Don Dokken can still sing, but his voice is definitely lower and raspier than it used to be. And it was apparent that these days Don Dokken is leaning on his young bass player Chris McCarvill to hit the high notes he can't reach anymore. For the most part it worked, but when the band played "Tooth and Nail" McCarvill had to focus on his bass playing, and it was clear Dokken's voice was shot by then. Still, the band gave the crowd a good show and they clearly appreciated it. Don Dokken mentioned that they had played 56 shows on this tour, and that 5 of them were in Ohio, and went on to praise my state for being a great rock and roll state. Dokken pledged, "You keep showing up, we'll keep coming back."

That is such a great version of that song. When I first heard/watched it on Live from the Royal Albert Hall, I almost didn't recognize it. It's one of my favorite Bonamassa performances while the original track from 2002's So, It's Like That was nowhere near the top of my list. My last concert was Alice Cooper in July 2019. I really hope it won't be the last.

LOVE music, but I'm not big on going to concerts. It's probably because of the high price tag of tickets.
Last concert I went to was in Woodstock, ON, Canada. It was a free concert for their 'sidewalk sales'. The main street is closed down.
The concert featured Genevieve Fisher, who was an up-and-coming country singer. I knew the name because she used to work at the one of the departments at University of Western Ontario.....er....WESTERN University. After her session, she said she was going to do a meet-and-greet over at one of the tents. I thought....yeah - I'll go over, and say hi.
We chatted for a good 10 minutes. I explained that I knew her from when she was at Western. Our delivery driver highly recommended her music, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm SO glad I did! I bought one of her CDs, and she autographed it.
There were other fans who wanted to say hi, so we kept it short. I didn't want to keep her from seeing her many fans.

Yes - Orlando, FL - 2011. The only free concert I have ever known them to do. Sponsored by a local radio station. Outdoors. Standing room only. Right in the middle of a major city street. Great concert but my legs wore out before it was over.
