Besides movies, books, music and TV...
Taking a shower and washing my hands with the best-smelling soap and bodywash I can find.

Had my first ASL quiz today, after 6 weeks of lessons and I have to say, it was a good feeling, to be tested on a new language. I now speak only short/broken sentences, BUT I feel like I could get by in the basic scenarios, like where is this, how much is that, whats your name, help me, what are you doing, how are you feeling, do this/that, you know, the basics. I forgot what its like when you are learning a completely new language, one that you have not been exposed to before, the part very early on, when you are just listening to something that sounds like SOUNDS and you cant event make out where individual words begin or end, I remember this feeling with French long time ago, it was all just SOUNDS and then one day it clicked and it was WORDS, most of which I didnt understand but I could make out the words. Thats a beautiful feeling. Today I had a similar breakthrough in ASL. I was listening to my tutor and until today, whenever she spoke, using words I didn't understand, it would just look like this beautiful but non transparent hand ballet to me. TODAY it started to feel like words. Thats what makes me happy these days and I do find comfort in knowing I can still learn new things and learn to communicate with more people in their own language

The thought that I'm going to die in the end anyway so it doesn't really matter what kind of crap life throws at me.

Struggling to find anything today, maybe the shelter at home started finally getting to me two months in?
have been doing a lot of drawing, that seems to help, but my mood has been dropping lately for some reason.
any tips on some new comforting activities one can do at home other than
1. watching tv 2. cleaning 3. working out 4. cooking/ eating 5. playing board games
thank you.

My go-tos are usually reading or writing while listening to music. You could also try painting, drawing or crocheting if that's within your interests. =)

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was around 7 or 8. I'm considering taking that up again to keep my fingers busy.
Yes. I really said that.

Yep, checked and it helps especially with dementia, alzheimer, depression...

Especially if you incorporate other stitches and patterns. I remember how excited I was when I learned how to make "popcorn" stitches. My grandmother used to crochet doilies using ultra fine, almost thread-sized cotton yarn and this itty bitty hook.
