O'Sullivan hit 146 in a spirited attempt to cut Ding's overnight lead but a final frame clearance of 126 saw the Chinaman go through.

Good win for Ding. I still remember when he broke down crying when Ronnie whooped him at the final of the masters, and he refused to come out for the final frame, Ronnie had to go back to the dressing room to drag him out by his ear. So that 'hoodoo' is finally over, could we finally see the first ever Chinese winner?
It is inevitable it will happen one day, in fact a betting man would probably say the British dominance will come to an end at some point, not yet though, so enjoy the likes of Mark Selby while it lasts!

Ding takes an early 5-3 lead over Selby in the opening session. Impressive stuff, still early days, but you might have to make him slight favourite to win the whole thing now.
