Gritty flick about a couple of maniacs harassing a bunch of people on a subway. All the people on the subway have these moments of 'at least its not me' as the maniacs harass each person in turn. You know at first its a drunk bum whos asleep and nobody cares cuz its a bum...then its a gay guy....then people don't care because it's not their neighborhood or that person who was talking back got what they deserved until one by one everyone gets assaulted in some way. The only thing I didn't like was Beau Bridges wholier than thou attitude at the end. I get that he stood up eventually but he had seemingly an hour to stand up to these punks and didn't do so because it was 'none of his business' or something. Then at the end he's looking around for a thank you at the other passengers. It just felt forced since he barely said a peep the whole time just like everyone else. So basically what you take away from the film is everyone sucks and nobody looks out for other peoples interests.

I haven't seen the film but what it's saying is generally true. It's a sad statement on humanity. I remember when I was a teenager, being in line at a chip shop with my cousin, and two teenage boys called us n*****. No one said anything, but then neither did I or my cousin. We just stood there wishing we could disappear.

It's a 10/10 movie. It's a great American allegory, a microcosm and resembles the "United We Stand, Divided We Fall"
It's on YouTube in full, too.
