A bit of distraction before the main event at Selhurst later. Osasuna (3 wins in 33 this season) look certain to join Adams' lads Granada in the drop, but Barca need the points here to stay ahead of Real who play away to Deportivo later. Barcelona (-4) 6/4 Osasuna 50 Draw 25
Preamble by Paul Doyle : "There you are. Welcome to Osasuna’s nightmare. To avoid being relegated from the Spanish top-flight today, La Liga’s bottom club only must win at the Nou Camp against a Barcelona side that is suddenly back on the title trail thanks to Sunday’s victory over Real Madrid. A daunting task for anyone, but all the more so for a team that is total bobbins. So far this season Osasuna have managed three wins from 33 leagues matches. They have a goal difference of minus 41. They were spanked 3-0 at home by Barcelona earlier in the campaign. Their plight is so grim that even drafting in Tony Adams, Kieran Richardson and Nigel Reo-Coker wouldn’t raise a laugh. If you’re thinking that Barcelona are going to run through the team from Pamplona like a herd of particularly nimble bulls, you’re absolutely right. Barcelona have scored 94 goals in the league so far this season and you’ll get short odds on them reaching their century today. Not that goal difference matters in the title race. If Barça and Real finish level on points, the winner will be determined by the clubs’ head-to-head record, which is in Barça’s favour. In other words, if Real lose just one of their remaining league matches, Barça will be champions, provided they win all of theirs. Real play Deportivo later today, by which time they will be three points behind their Catalan rivals, unless Osasuna pull off the biggest miracle since, well, their promotion last season."

Osasuna's Roberto Torres is treated for a nose bleed by the medics. Earlier he had entered the Barca half. He's told by los medico to stay on terra firma and stick to residing in his own half like the rest of his colleagues have done so far.

Okay, it's only Osasuna but what a peach of an opener from Messi on '12. He picked it up on the halfway line and virtually juggled it all the way in for one-nothing, using his foot, knee and head alike to keep the ball sticking to him like glue until ready to fire.

Rakatik fed it in wide on '31 for Gomes who fired it home from 12 yards for 2-0.

Louis Suarez is caught on camera chewing on his fingernails in the dug-out. He'd just love to get his teeth into this game.

With a superior goal difference over Real, Barcelona seem happy with the three points coming their way perhaps without the 6 or 7 nil that some may have expected. It's like watching a two-horse race with one horse running. Two-nothing as they go in for tea and oranges.

Holy Smoke, what a strike from Roberto Torres three minutes into the second half. His free-kick from way outside the area curled majestically over the astounded Barca wall and totally wrong-footed Ter Stergen who could do nothing. It's 2-1.

3-1 on '58. Gomes pounced on Pique's saved shot and drills it in from just outside the 6 yard box. Normal service and all that...

It's a 20 yard barn-storming curler from Messi on the hour. It sails delightfully inside the post and was unstoppable the instant it left his boot.

There are quite a few yo-yo clubs in Spain. Osasuna being one of them, whose sole ambition is to play in La Liga for a season, maybe two. Others are Granada, Cordoba, Gijon, Leganes, Las Palmas, Alves, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe, Levante, Almeria, Mallorca, Elche, Oviedo and others
There is one exception to this rule...Eibar, a little city in the Basque country, about 30 miles east of Bilbao which has a population of 27000 and change. The city's team is enjoying its 3rd successive year in La Liga and currently lies 8th comfortably away from the relegation zone. Its ground has recently been redeveloped and now boasts a capacity of just over 7000. They celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2015 with a match in Eibar against...Celtic. These little guys are football.

Mascherano doesn't want to miss out on this free-for-all and makes it six on whatever minute it is. Four goals in 9 minutes for crying out loud. His shot whizzed past the Osasuna keeper as if he wasn't even there.

Alcacer picks up the central through-ball, survives one tackle, rounds the keeper and slots home to pot Barca's seventh on '86.
