Meh, I enjoy the awards shows to root for my faves, but seldom actually watch them. The Oscars especially are very political.

The thing that is so interesting and perhaps scary is the corporate media aren't fretting because they don't really seem to care if it goes on or not. Movies and some sporting events could easily continue since the people involved don't have direct contact with the public--social distancing is normal for a lot of movie people or sports people. They close movie sets to the public. They could wear masks before they shoot and take them off when the cameras roll. They just shut it all down without a fuss.
They have other things they are concentrating on it would seem, like they don't care if they don't make any more movies (which is consistent with the attitude of movie executives I have seen interviewed--movies mean nothing to most of them). There's a Hollywood Reporter roundtable from a decade ago where the heads of production were asked what they would do if they werent making films and only one said they loved films-the other 5 were saying they would sell shoes, go into environmental firms, or hedge funds.

I'd predict they don't get aired and that no one cares or misses them, which will lead to the demise of their being broadcast any longer.
That's probably just wishful thinking.

It took a global pandemic for them to finally combine the sound categories into one?!

Probably a lot of streaming sites do well if they do have the Oscars.
