Meh. I actually like The Last Jedi better, which I hated at first but has grown on me during subsequent viewings. Adam Driver was gold, though. I've become a big fan of him. I think I prefer the prequels to the sequels though.
All in all, I grew up with the OT, so SW has a special place in my heart. It's bitter sweet to see the story come to a close.

Agreed on nearly everything.
Also hated TLJ on first viewing, also warmed up to it on rewatch, though I still have major reservations (e.g., Laura Dern’s part and the horses).
As for TRoS: I liked it, had fun watching it in a movie theater, yet it was mostly “meh” for me too. In particular it kind of shot itself in the foot by building up to, say, Rey turning evil and then not delivering on that at all. It also didn’t really deliver on the stuff TLJ set up, like Kylo destroying his mask and killing Snoke. (The Emperor’s pretty much just a Snoke fill-in here, ironically as Snoke was an Emperor fill-in in the first two.) That said, it’s a big mess of a movie, especially script-wise, but it is a fun mess. What I did love in TRoS was the acting: I didn’t like Driver at all in TFA, liked him a little better in TLJ, and thought he was great in TRoS. Thought Ridley gave her best Star Wars performance in TRoS too.

I still haven't seen it.
I knew they couldn't possibly follow up on TLJ's narrative, which at first came off as a prank or a troll on Star Wars fans and a deliberate tanking of the new trilogy, but in hindsight is probably one of the better Star Wars movie conceptually. I'd rank it in my top three, in fact.
The initial Star Wars films cribbed a lot of elements from pop culture but twisted them and smeared just enough dirt on them to be unique and unexpected. TLJ did the same thing in the modern age. Of course the difference is that the original films were immediately beloved whereas TLJ was hated because it dared to twist the long-running franchise in an unexpected direction. But the franchise did need to be twisted: it can't survive off of nostalgia alone.
And that is my review of Rise of the Skywalker.

Not without its flaws, but I liked the film.
It does feel like it's cramming a lot into its running time, having the last battle be so frantic and quickly cut, having a weak explanation for Palpatine's resurrection, and also, at times, feel like it's self-consciously apologizing for some of the creative choices for The Last Jedi.
But it has mature performances from the cast, nice camaraderie among the cast, a story that carries you along enough, entertaining action, and does wrap things up for the trilogy.

I liked it quite a bit, but it’s the weakest of the sequel trilogy. They should’ve given a better explanation for Palpatine’s return and his plans for Rey changes at least 3 times.

Didn't hate it but there was enough stuff to irritate me. They should had went with the script for Duel of the Fates instead.

I myself loved "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER".
Heck, I actually even bought it on DVD yesterday.

It's biggest assets are the reasons some people don't like it.
There's no doubt, from a writer's point of view, that the two best screenplays, indeed the two best scripts, are #7 and #9, Force Awakens and Rise of Skywalker. These are the two most "mature" scripts, and the two that have the most professional writing of characters. Notice that only in these two do we get three dimensional characters with credible motivations.
"The Rise of Skywalker" is undeniably the best script. If one took out all the special effects and costumes and simply put the nine Star Wars films on stage of adult and professional actors, "Rise of Skywalker" and "The Force Awakens" would be the only ones that wouldn't make a mature audience groan.
"Credible characters in incredible circumstances" is depicted here more than any of the others, and for those who prefer more European gods and demigods, ones who are impossible to relate to and empathize with, that doesn't work.
But one can't deny this is the strongest of the nine films in terms of motivation and character.
