Britannia Hospital (1982) dir: Lindsay Anderson is a farcical satire on the distressed state of the National Health Service under Thatcher. The Hospital is awaiting a visit by a Royal Personage (based on the Queen Mother) and is desperately trying to spruce itself up. Malcolm McDowell again plays "Mick Travis" as he did in "If...." (1968) and "O Lucky Man!" (1973). Now he is a reporter covering the royal visit. Graham Crowden again plays the insane surgeon Professor Millar from "O Lucky Man!" and is continuing his horrific and sadistic experiments revealed in the earlier movie.

As soon as someone says "films about hospitals", the first that comes to my mind is always: Coma (1978) directed and co-written by Michael Crichton. Yet I have never seen it. Go figure! As I have never seen it I can only repeat IMDb's summary: When a young female doctor (Geneviève Bujold) notices an unnatural amount of comas occurring in her hospital she uncovers a horrible conspiracy. Also stars Michael Douglas.

Where Does It Hurt? (1972) Not exactly one of Peter Sellers' best comedies, but anyway.

I've been looking for a chance to see this movie again for a long, long time. Bobby Darin got an Oscar nom and Eddie Albert is fine and memorable.
