Why does Logan belong to a different universe? Also, how do you know TNM takes place in 2008?

Why does Logan belong to a different universe? Also, how do you know TNM takes place in 2008? 1- I will write a stand-alone thread for the Logan universe. 2- Colossus' age is the very same of X2. So I guess that Illyana/Magik is still his little sister... plus, we got Sunspot as well. If Roberto is at least 18 in TNM, and TNM is set in 2008, he would be 33 in DOFP (2023).

I hope "The New Mutants" will add more backstory to this timeline...

Logan absolutely fits into the X-Men universe.

Logan absolutely fits into the X-Men universe. It's an alternate universe, and I will explain why: 1- Old Man Logan killed the scientists in "his" version of the Weapon X Program. Our Logan never did that in either "X-Men Origins" or "Apocalypse", he just slaughtered the soldiers. 2- There was no Transigen-Alkali in "Apocalypse" (set in 1983). 3- There was no adamantium bullet in "Apocalypse". In the original timeline (X-Men Origins), the adamantium bullet was already used anyway and it wasn't available anymore. 4- There are mutant children in the school, at the very ending of DOFP (2023). This means that mutant births didn't stop in 2004, I mean in the mainstream X-Men universe. Also, it's a too extreme idea which invalidates the entire existence of the X-Men. 5- In DOFP, Phoenix is alive. In the deleted scene of "Logan", Old Man Logan talks about killing Jean and his remorse about it. Also, Phoenix would have stopped Xavier and his "psychic attacks" very easily. 6- They never talk about the time travel issue. They act as there's only one timeline. 7- Caliban is totally different from his counterpart in "Apocalypse". 8- Old Man Logan is supposed to have been "masked and costumed" in his X-Man days. The Romita Jr. uniform. 9- Charles is 90 years old in "Logan" (2029). In the mainstream X-Men universe, he is instead born in 1932.
