For me, it's easily Derek Jeter. Everyone thought he was such a perfect little angel. Personally, I think he is a giant douchebag and an overrated player who more popular for his personality than his actual skills as an actual athlete.

Mo Riveria, I mean he barely pitched more than an inning a game, and not even in every game!

I think he was overrated as a prospect. He had no control even before the injury. Baseball history is filled with pitchers who had a good fastball and nothing else. But all that history is written in the Minors

Don Larson easily.
The guy pitched one great game in his career and he's treated like Ron Burgundy or something. Give me a break.....

Steve Nebraska. Totally overrated. He's not even real.

Watch this everyone... Paul O'Neill or Tino Martinez No, thankfully they're only overrated by Gen X'ers who had Jeter posters over their beds.

It's got to be Jeter. He was a great player and a deserving hall of famer but he was treated like he was the best player in the game when he wasnt even top 20 imo. Plus his defense was over rated. Guys voting on gold gloves those days probably just watched Sportscenter and saw Jeter highlights more so than anyone else because ESPN loves there Yankees coverage.

I kind of agree with you in same way that U2 was both a really good band but also pretty overatted.
