Well, it's been sometime I posted here and that's why. Live has actually not changed for me. Work is the same Commuting is the same Errands are the same (shopping is a bit weird sometimes) Hobbies are the same (Lego/Bricks, TV shows, music etc. pp.) It is rather external things like sport, cinema (albeit last year I saw a single movie because super hero movies do not interest me that much, and the rest is meh...TV show have become so much superior to movies in terms of story telling, character development, creating of ideas and worlds), restaurants which have changed e.g. simply closed done because they had to. We have also no quarantine in Germany but a "Kontaktverbot": you may not form a group of three people or more (save for family members), which is constantly violated at work...often we even poke fun of this. btw: I do not know a single person who had or has Corona (not even from the word of mouth) and so does everyone I know: family, friends, co-workers, and their family and friends. Also the hospital in our region have no Corona patients. It's all very strange....

Also the hospital in our region have no Corona patients. It's all very strange.... Spread is not uniform and is now slowing down. Here is a map of Germany showing local numbers. It appears the protective measures taken are sufficient and likely exaggerated. I expect them to be loosened soon. People won't be running around with masks everywhere but will need to remain careful. Public transport is a major risk and to those using it, it is worth wearing something over their face just so they won't put their hands on it inadvertantly, hands which have been holding onto the same bars and door knobs as hundreds others. Work within a stable group is fine. Multiplying contacts to strangers is the thing to avoid but we cannot stay idle for long. As to not knowing anyone, many never know they're infected, never showing symptoms. In Heinsberg, the place in Germany where the thing was first noticed, 15% of the population was tested positive (I assume this is because they tested everyone there) with a 0.37% mortality rate, much lower than for the rest of the country at some 2.3% (where fewer people are tested, obviously). So protective measures work. Sweden has not enforced anything and comes out with a death rate of 9%, lower than Italy, Spain or the UK. Just wash your hands and stop picking your nose. Don't eat with your fingers. That's it, really…

we live in a strange world , some of the stuff reported I suspect is over ratted and some are true but there is always a middle could be they are just testing all these people for fun just to have our DNA and mess with us later . Of course some of the precautions are exaggerated. They have to be before we understand what's going on. First I heard the thing would die within 3 minutes on objects, then this was updated to 30 mn, then there was talk of days in some very particular conditions. Now I see people talk of desinfecting anything they get through the post and at the same time I could watch a video saying that the risk of infection through contact with objects is as good as inexistent unless you go grab the thing others were just grabbing in public transport and lick your fingers. On the other hand, the breath of people talking is dangerous. If you can smell someone's toothpaste or tell they've been smoking, you know you're inhaling what they just expired. That is serious. That's why wearing masks of any sort makes sense for people who need to interact with others. It minimises emissions. Well, no, not of any sort. This one's wrong:

This one's wrong: it sounds more like a bio weapon than a regular virus -meaning yes its a virus but used as bio weapon and I wish they would come out and say it- this thing whatever it is , is in the air and I think they know it and keeping the truth for us maybe for our own good but this is just not normal . CDC official guidelines are ludicrous some of the things they have stated over time makes no sense it used to be early on you don't need a mask , to its a mandatory to wear one , but it still won't protect you. huh?? Unless something more dark and sinister is going on here ...lets not forget who supports depopulation and who is talking for years creating a pandemic and vaccines.

Hello AJ. I'm okay but not great. Being cooped up drives me crazy so I've needed a fantasy boost to keep my spirits up. I haven't re-watched Game of Thrones yet, but I've been on a binge watch of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. As I did the first time I watched them, I wanted the films to go on and on and not end. It was like saying goodbye to old friends again. There were tears aplenty.

I'm alive and well during this Zombie Apocalypse; it's like a Seventies movie come to life.

I think it's just a case of a lab with previously noted substandard security in China screwing the pooch and then a totalitarian government used to getting its own way (with everyone) trying desperately to escape responsibility compounded by the Usual Suspects trying 'not to let a crisis go to waste.'

I thought both of those trilogies started well but worsened as they went on as they diverged from the source material. The ruination of the characters of Denethor and Faramir and taking all the desperate angst out of Eowyn really stuck in my craw.

Faramir and Eowyn were two characters I wished had been brought more to the fore in the books. Jackson tried to do that with Faramir in the film but I don't think he came off well. Eowyn's character really resonated with me, and I felt her frustration with her life. As I said, I wish they had played a bigger part in the books and the films.

I thought Faramir came off pretty much the opposite of the way he was portrayed in the books. Eowyn's tragedy (in the books) was she wanted to die, she wasn't just frustrated. As a kid reading it I was afraid she'd jump off the battlements in those scenes after the siege of Minas Tirith. The very best part of the books in my opinion was her facing down the Witch King, with the line that starts 'Begone foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion...' but instead that is truncated so we can watch Orlando Bloom play with elephants.

I am a big big fan of LOTR and so its great to find a fellow LOTR fan. I am thinking about starting LOTR books. At least I will start with my 6th time watch of the trilogy soon.
