I'm watching a Drew Carey episode where Oswald and Lewis are trying to trick some elderly people by going inside an empty TV set and making up some fake TV shows like you would a puppet show in front of people, live. They said they saw it on a cartoon before and it got me wondering-- I've seen this on some movie or cartoon or sorts, too, but now I can't remember. Anyone know what tv show or movie or whatever this was done on before?
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone verify that?

Yes it was in an episode of Scooby Doo. But it was also in an episode of I Love Lucy and I know it was in other cartoons as well. I'm pretty sure Woody Woodpecker did it and I think The Flintstones did it once.
