It was in 1980 or maybe the tail end of 1979. It was on TV. An event, or some TV special. I could have sworn Melissa Manchester was singing 'I Will Survive' and there were all kinds of other stars singing and acting, like those cherished variety shows. But I recall just a part of a song sung by Phyllis Diller. Or at least it seems that it was her...
The song was a lullaby, and google is of no help. This is how obscure this is but the memory though frail is this lyric;
It's time to close your eyes and dream, Dream of the day to come Dream till the night is gone
You've climbed the stairs now You've said your prayers now It's time to close your eyes and dream.
What is this little song that has been kept in memory since then but faded over time? Does anyone know?

Can you remember which network it was on?
I seem to remember that "I will Survive" was a hit for Gloria Gaynor, and the song I remember Melissa Manchester for was "Midnight Blue," but perhaps my memories are scrambled too.

Yeah those songs are what you say, but this was an event or TV special filled with the then "today's stars" and I think there was a football field that Melissa Manchester was singing on, so maybe it was during what's called a half time (I'm guessing, I know fick all about televised sports) and the lullaby singer was probably not Phyllis Diller but she does sing and has that big hair so...
And thanks RiP, I still would have no idea what the song was called.
