I’m not a Sam Mendez fan and was dreading his follow up to Skyfail but this one had a lot of great scenes and can be fun, it runs far too long though, especially the third act

I say "meh"
The director/cinematographer are still top notch. Bond still has perfect characterization. And there's some great stuff like the Dia de Muertos sequence...
But it all goes to hell when we meet Blofeld. Act Three is painfully stupid.

yay
The story is meh, but it is magnificent on a technical level and Christoph Waltz is awesome as Blofeld imo.

This one is underrated. my #3 Bond movie of them all (behind Skyfall (2012)(9/10)/Casino Royale (2006)(8/10)). but I suspect some of the reason this has a lower average rating (6.8/10 IMDb average) than it should be is because it's more simple and like a more traditional Bond movie from the old days. this movie blows away the super hero crap and those score well into the 7.x/10 (sometimes even higher) range. so this should be low 7's for the average BARE MINIMUM.
7.5-8/10 ; within my Top 78 movies.

Nay
Pros:
The pre-credit sequence is pretty exciting
Blofeld’s cat is back
Dave Bautista would’ve made for a great henchmen if only his exit hadn’t come so early
Nice to see Monica Bellucci as a more mature Bond girl
Cons:
Craig looks bored most of the time as if his mind had been somewhere else during shooting
Waltz is miscast as Blofeld, he is on autopilot during the whole movie
Worst Bond song ever
No chemistry between Lea Seydoux and Daniel Craig
Most of the action is rather generic
It doesn’t know what it wants to be and old-fashioned tongue-in-cheek Bond adventure or a more serious thriller
Andrew Scott’s character is wasted and ultimately completely unnecessary

Yay - bit of a come down from Skyfall in my book, and I'm not as enamoured with Waltz as some seem to be, but it's still a quality Bond pic with Craig firing on all cylinders.

Meh just like Craig as Bond himself. The Craig movies have none of the magic that made Bond the global phenomenon that it is.
