Catman remembers fondly the summer vacations to various national parks when he was growing up. Driving up to Alaska was perhaps the highlight.

Truth is truth. I think that's when childhood officially ceases- when your developing brain no longer is hyper impressionable. Turns out, 18 is probably the right age both legally & psychologically.
My 5-18 memories still champion out those from 20-30.

In part. The human brain always recalls fondness, even when the overall situation isn't great. We're wired that way. I had an abysmal childhood with parents who never should have had children. Despite that, I have fond memories, but not with my parents, but with my friends and outside activities.
The greatest gift a parent can give their child is a healthy sense of self, self-reliance, worth and unconditional love.

But their memories are their own. Schwarz I wanted my daughter to have the memory of baked goods smell upon walking into our home after school. I baked at least 2 times per week. She has no memory of this. Lol
