Tom Magee had the right look to be the biggest star of WWF and was not a bad wrestler either. The Magee should have been one of the biggest stars of 90's wrestling.

I believe I read about the guy. They really wanted to push him because of his look. I forget the specifics. I"m sure I've seen him before I just don't remember. Not exactly a household name lol

He should have been one of the biggest stars of 80's 90's wraslin.

Lex was a badass. He had way more personality then anyone wrestling for WWE today

Lex was a badass. He had way more personality then anyone wrestling for WWE today Never understood why Vince pushed Lex the way he did and then refused to pull the trigger at SummerSlam '93. One of his weirder booking decisions, which is saying something, I think!

I think the audience just didn't take to him. He seemed to pretty much be a rehash of Hogan. By this point, the fans had had enough of that. Bret Hart was different. He was new as a main eventer.

Lex Luger's career highlight to me was body slamming Yoko. Not any single title that he's ever one, I think that was honestly the height of his career. He never did anything very well. He wasn't an above average promo, he wasn't an above average to even an average worker. He simply had a look that Vince likes because Vince McMahon loves big sweaty men. I love hearing Bischoff tell stories about Lex because the only reason he brought Lex to WCW was as a favor to Sting. Even WCW didn't want him and that's where he had the most success.

I dont know man. Lex had that cool entrance, the most badass bus(Lex Express) and just a dominating presence. I mean he looked like a jacked MacGyver which is just awesome. He could have been and should have been a huge star but WWE just pulled the plug to early. I mean Lugers left bicep had more charisma then Roman Reigns and they've been pushing him for 4 freakin years now, even though everyone hates him. Luger truly was the total package.

I"m in the minority. I didn't have a problem with Lex Luger. I didn't think his interviews were bad nor did I think his matches were that bad. Maybe as a rookie, but I think he was ok after that. I don't believe his slam of Yokozuna was what he's remembered for. Maybe if you were a new fan at the time and only saw his wwf stuff and nothing before that.

Yeah. I think people forget just how over Luger was. His WWF run may not have amounted to much, but watch the crowd go crazy for him in WCW and Nitro. He'd get cheers for attacking Hogan. And that was before the nWo.

And his run in the late 80's as a horseman and his feud with them after he left the Horseman

I know we've gotten a little bit off track here and I apologize to my friend Carlos_tigro for hijacking this thread but I had to post this clip of Ric Flair vs. Lex Luger at battle of the belts III from 1986 in Daytona Beach, FL. Check it out at the 1 hour mark. Flair pulled out a pretty good match out of Luger who was just less than 2 years in the business at the time.

Discussing old school wrestling is awesome. Also the match that you posted was better then most of the ones that we got at the latest Wrestlemania.
