I've spent most of my life just eating to eat, but I've really been appreciative of it through this.
Yesterday I made the best steak i've ever had. Charcoal grilled 1/2 pound flank steak, had been marinated in Kikkoman Green Onion and Garlic sauce and Worcestershire sauce. I was almost in tears eating it.
Was it the best? I don't know, but I likely just didn't appreciate ones that were better.
When I was married, my ex didn't feel appreciated for her cooking, So she stopped to see when I'd notice. I didn't. Two weeks in she had to tell me she'd stopped. I just made do on my own all that time.

What a very engaging post.
I am very pleased you enjoyed the steak so much that it almost moved you to joyous tears - what a fine appreciation of food that is.

He suffered early on when I barely had a clue about cooking. Yes there have been occasions when he disliked something I made, he still thanked me but commented too that he hoped we wouldn't have that again.
