Top 10 Action Movie Stars: (Now obviously the list goes on and on especially for the guys at the top, but I'm limiting my choice performances to 3 roles each) 1. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator/T2, Predator, Commando) 2. Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Fugitive) 3. Sylvester Stallone (Rambo franchise, Rocky franchise, Cobra) 4. Tom Cruise (Mission Impossible franchise, Top Gun, Edge of Tomorrow) 5. Mel Gibson (Mad Max original trilogy, Lethal Weapon franchise, Braveheart) 6. Bruce Willis (Die Hard original trilogy, Last Man Standing, Unbreakable) 7. Keanu Reeves (Speed, The Matrix, John Wick franchise) 8. Will Smith (Bad Boys franchise, Independence Day, Men In Black) 9. Kurt Russell (Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China, Tombstone) 10. Bruce Lee (Way of the Dragon, Fist of Fury, Enter the Dragon) HM: Steven Seagal (Hard To Kill, Out For Justice, Marked For Death Matt Damon (for the Bourne trilogy alone) Jean-Claude Van Damme (Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Hard Target) Wesley Snipes (Blade franchise, Demolition Man, The Art of War) Steve McQueen (Bullitt, The Great Escape, The Getaway) Interesting. My man Bruce Willis is pretty shockingly low in such a ranking. Even his shitty 90's action movies like Last Boy Scout and Striking Distance were highly entertaining action flicks. I for one, have never seen an Arnold movie that I enjoyed. I know people love him but the appeal never reached me. Same for Sly outside of 1 or 2 Rocky movies. Harrison Ford isn't somebody I think of in terms of action flicks. Never seen the Indiana Jones movies (outside of the shitty one with Shia) and I'm not a fan of Star Wars. Glad to see Keanu get in there with John Wick. No love for Vin Deisel and the Fast franchise? No Jason Statham via Transporter or Crank? Daniel Craig's James Bond films? Jackie Chan has some entertaining ones.

And I haven't even mentioned guys who are primarily known for Marvel movies even though Chris Evans has been part of some of the best hand to hand action scenes in the MCU. Clint Eastwood's Westerns and even his contemporary stuff like the Dirty Harry franchise or In The Line of Fire were more thrillers than true action flicks, hence his omission. Then of course you have John Wayne. I just think action is judged to a different standard these days, and you can't really compare. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and The Searchers are incredible films, but I'm not throwing them on when I want to turn my brain off and eat popcorn, you know? Kurt Russell is kind of a forgotten action hero these days. It feels a little weird putting him on the top ten over Seagal or Van Damme for example, whose entire careers were built on B action movies. And I know art is subjective and all that, but if you don't think the three Kurt Russell films I listed (and The Thing is an all time fave of mine as well, but again it's a thriller more than an action film) are amazing action movies, you're wrong. You just are. No Wild Wild West?! No joke; I've unashamedly loved that movie for years. I know I've seen it but I barely remember anything about it. I remember a giant spider, mostly because of the Superman doc that was made about the Nick Cage never made Superman movie and Kevin Smith talking about how the studio head wanted a giant spider to fight. So Kev was happy that the studio head finally got his giant spider. Plus Salma Hayek, but I mean, who could forget anything that she does? Oh, and of course the banger that was the soundtrack with Will Smith and Sisqo.

Jackie Chan has some entertaining ones. Yeah the rankings were tough. Gibson over Willis was a hard call to make, Die Hard edges out any single Gibson project. From a standpoint of body of work, I had to give the edge to Gibson. And yes, I also considered Craig's Bond flicks, and Connery's for that matter. Good call on Chan, also should've mentioned Denzel Washington, but like I said it's a list that can go on forever if you let it. I'm going to revisit this topic in its own thread at some point, probably expand the field to 25.
I've never been a fan of the FF franchise. I don't have anything against Vin Diesel, but for whatever reason I don't like his movies. I still think his best flick was Pitch Black, and he's essentially the co-lead in that. The sequels were terrible. Ditto for Dwayne Johnson. Like the guy, don't like his movies. The only Statham movie I've ever enjoyed is Snatch, which is an ensemble piece more than a Statham vehicle.

That's fair. Die Hard and the Lethal Weapon franchise are some of my favorites. Die Hard to me is just damn near impossible to surpass. I really liked the first 3 of them. LW 1 & 2 were solid. Not the biggest fan of the third. Willis for me while the movies weren't always the best I'd still get entertainment out of them so he'd rank a lot higher for me. Love the "every man" falls into being a hero type of story. In regards to Vin, yeah I understand the Fast franchise isn't for everybody. I personally liked quite a few of them. Outside of that franchise he doesn't really do it for me though. Pitch Black was alright but I don't really remember much of it. The Rock, in terms of his big action movies the only one I really enjoyed was Jumanji. The sequel sucked though so I'd agree he wouldn't make my top 10. Nice shout on Snatch though. I fucking love that movie. Brad Pitt's accent in it still cracks me up. What would you use as examples for Denzel? Is Training Day an action movie? 2 Guns with Wahlberg was good. The Equalizer movies maybe. He had that one with Dakota Fanning as well that was good. Another with Eva Mendes I wanna say. Alright, yeah...as I'm thinking of it he has a lot more than I originally thought.

Trailer Park Boys characters:
1. Ricky ...electrifying IQ & linguist 2. Bubbles ...soul of the show 3. Lahey ...greatest drunk in the history of tv/film 4. Randy ...sneaky strong foil for all, underrated 5. J-Roc ...fun levity on the side 6. Julian ...his Patrick Swayze muscles are fun to mock 7. Jacob ...underrated, solid deadpan go-to 8. Cory ...can't help but fcuk everything up 9. Trevor ...indestructible comedic foil 10.Ray ...Ricky's dad, nuff said
I've been bingeing in reverse season order via Netflix. Glorious late night empty comedic calories.

I have always intended on watching them because I know I'd like them. I just haven't yet. I'll get to them eventually.

Peter the Great would be my #1 (I know you said these aren't in order), probably followed by Catherine. Interesting to see Nicholas on the list. He was dealt a tough hand I suppose, but he seemed to make poor decision after poor decision, ultimately leading to his overthrow. Again, it was perhaps inevitable, but he didn't seem to be a man of vision.

Don"t know he can be counted as an action star but he was superb in Leon and in La Femme Nikita as the "cleaner".
