10 ongoing ScreamingTreeFrogs bits best to worst: 5) Shitty movies like Alien v Predator is an undeniable classic while other actual classics are bad, and the remakes are always better than the legit good ones. It's pretty lame and unoriginal, but it's all in good fun and it comes up a lot. It's one of those things that's not funny at all until like 73rd time you see it and then you smirk. I think he actually thinks that PCU is better than Animal House. I think he just has horrible taste and it isn't a schtick.

6) That pro Wrestling is a competitive sport. It's fine. There's no problem with discussing the nostalgia for old school WWF from your childhood, but the insistence that it's a 'real' sport even while acknowledging that it's outcomes are predetermined is pretty tired and dull, but it still elicits argumentative responses sometimes... which can be funny on occasion. Did I miss his Pat Patterson thread or did he miss his death? He's eulogized a lot more inconsequential wrestlers than Patterson.

10 ongoing ScreamingTreeFrogs bits best to worst: 1) Arguing that not only could he make an NFL roster at QB, but that he'd be 'pretty damn good.' It's probably the most outlandish thing he's ever said, but he's committing to argue it as if he means it. Credit has to be given. This shit is hilarious. Like when George Costanza said he could coach in the NFL because it's not that hard, and Jerry replied 'That might be the stupidest thing you've ever said.' 2) The Eagles, and other Philly teams, are always gonna win every game and are always on the precipice of a championship run. 3) 'Gravy'. It wasn't actually funny, but the timing was right for this one. It was the classic hedging-your-bets kinda thing, but it worked out and as dumb as it was it was able to carry through to the next season just because it was fortuitous timing. 4) Hurtsy, Wentzy, etc. It's really stupid, but if you repeat anything enough it can catch on, and other people on here have taken to using these non-nicknames as nicknames. Effective. 5) Shitty movies like Alien v Predator is an undeniable classic while other actual classics are bad, and the remakes are always better than the legit good ones. It's pretty lame and unoriginal, but it's all in good fun and it comes up a lot. It's not a conversation worth having, still, but it's a slight variation on the tired old jokey debate. 8) The 'I don't know who comic characters, or star wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings characters are.' Just kinda dull and not funny to pretend to be superior by not having heard of things that everyone has heard of, whether your a fan or not. 9) that 'I think that Stan Lee and Christopher Lee are the same person' joke that somehow went on for a long time. It was a bizarre enough attempted joke to maybe be amusing, and he committed to it for a long time, but it was just bad and didn't work on any level. 10) The many, many, many times a thread is started with some ridiculous salacious thread title about something horrible but he doesn't provide a link or any context then he gets a few replies, goes back and changes the title and flips the perspective on that issue completely. It's really lame, stupid, and cheap, and I can't imagine it amuses anyone.. even him. 11. Larry Bird, any Boston Celtics player in general were never any good (but mostly Bird); same goes for Scottie Pippen, and the entire 92 Dream Team. 12. Here's a 10 second highlight clip that proves player X is either the GOAT or total garbage. 13. I'm going to completely ignore what you said and respond as if you used the argument I was expecting instead. 14. Mix and match slop.

There's nothing better than your division rivals winning championships - it makes the next regular season game a giant party. 16. Level of fandom is directly related to your proximity to a team. Bostonians are not "real" fans of the Patriots. 17. If a team isn't from a major media market, they are automatically boring, not a "draw", and have no superstars. 18. Asking if you're okay before calling you one of "top gun" "big cat" or "Ace."

I don't wanna turn this entirely into a hate fest.
This running gag where he argues that he could be a successful NFL QB is legitimately hilarious.

My mind keeps going back to the legitimate college QB's who never got a shot at the NFL. Not the flops like Leaf of Manziel but the ones who excelled at a big school but never stuck to a roster or even a practice squad. Ken Dorsey, Christian Hackenburg, Jason White, Eric Crouch.

Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. It's more a Christmas movie than It's a Wonderful Life. While IAWL maybe not be a Christmas movie either, Die Hard certainly isn’t. That a movie takes place during Christmas doesn’t automatically make it a Christmas movie. Christmas isn’t integral to the plot - it’s just a plot device to explain the gathering in the building, John visiting. Otherwise it has nothing to do with Christmas.

It's more a Christmas movie than It's a Wonderful Life. How so? Die Hard takes place entirely at a Christmas party, with Christmas themes & nods throughout. IAWL is Christmastime for its final sequence. That tv showed IAWL as a December tradition doesn't directly fulfill criteria. Die Hard has been shown in December forever as well. They're both Christmas movies, I just think DH checks more Santa boxes.

Die Hard takes place entirely at a Christmas party, with Christmas themes & nods throughout. IAWL is Christmastime for its final sequence. One way to think about it. No celebratory or thematic Christmas elements at all though. Then again, I really have no interest in getting into the painfully cliche 'Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?' debate ever again.
