I'm trying to find a copy that doesn't run me like 45 bucks. And since I've never read the book I'm trying to decide whether the first edition version is the way to go, or the second publishing which I guess was the original version as written, and is like an additional 350 pages or something. How are you feeling about the new CBS All Access series? The cast seems good, but maybe a little too movie star-ish. And 9 think they ought to replace Amber Heard, but that's a separate discussion. I think some of the production overlapped with the real world outbreak, which is pretty weird. Not sure if it's finished, and I wonder how it affects the release plan. Do they hold it until things return to normal, or do they capitalize on people being home and having an outbreak on their minds? I had forgotten all about the new series and I literally canceled my subscription last week. I only subscribed for Picard but didn't like it. Patrick Stewart seems too old now to play the swashbuckling Captain Picard of the Next Generation series. As far as the actors in CBS' version I think Whoopi Goldberg is perfect casting for playing Mother Abigail. Also Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman. I am not a huge James Marsden fan and Stu Redman is the key player in King's novel. Who knows, he might win me over. If Stephen King is part of the series I think he will want to delay the release until the virus is under control. He is not the the sort of guy who likes to take advantage of peoples fear. He would rather your fear is created by his writings. Interesting last sentiment there. It's odd to read that, but I think that's true. He is apparently writing a new ending for the new series, but I don't think Stephen King is involved beyond that. I like Marsden, but he's what I mean in terms of being a little too movie starrish. He's too pretty. My understanding of the character is that he's a mild mannered regular dude from Texas whose a general good man but not overly charismatic. And Amber Heard should be recast just for her off screen issues. As long as we are being fair. I never had any interest in CBS All Access. It was always one of the least appealing of the recent glut of new streaming services, but if this ever comes out I may sign up for a free trial if I can watch it all in that amount of time. |

Manfred Moore (5 games, Newtown 1977) Didn’t quite crack it, more famous for throwing balls Gridiron style over the grandstand than anything else. Did score a try though. 2. Greg Smith (1 game, Newcastle 1999) Claimed to have played with the Philadelphia Eagles as a WR. Looked the goods too. Tall, strong muscular Afro-American who could really run fast. Couldn’t catch a highball, nor tackle though. Hence the one game. And that’s it for that one !
