It's been almost a year since Endgame released. Both movies were sort of equally successful with fans, I think Infinity War has a 8.5 on IMDb and Endgame has a 8.4.
Not that they've been out a while and you may have watched them a few times, which do you prefer?
For me I'd still say Infinity War. It was exciting seeing all those characters together like that, I thought Thanos was portrayed better there and the ending and that it ended on a dark note made it stand out more to me.

Still Infinity War for me.
Thanos was a knockout, damn near perfect villain. Smart, tactical, philosophical, compassionate, dangerous, fighting skills, logician, motivated, he had it all. A total package of a character. Sized like the Hulk but moves like Tyson, quick like a cat and fights like Captain America. To this day I still think Captain America is the only one who comes close to besting Thanos in hand to hand combat.
Then he succeeds. He's the hero of his own story. Lifelong mission come to fruition, validated.
Something else I like about it is the snap in Wakanda. It's subtle but there's this deathly genocide foreboding people turning into dust against a backdrop of bright sunny Wakanda plains. It's a lotta darkness happening in front of a lotta bright.

IW this entire time. I'll happily admit that penultimate chapters are forever more fascinating & enjoyable for me, regardless the medium. Everything & the kitchen sink at the 11th hour of drama always makes me happier than nice soft landings & payoff.
IW remains my 2nd fav MCU behind only Age of Ultron. They did such an impossibly tremendous job with it. Thanos/Brolin is f'n awesome.

Infinity War felt like a movie.
Endgame felt like a victory lap.

Infinity War. It had a more cohesive story and I love high stakes. Even just by going through the lines on the internet did I feel the tension again and how the stakes have clearly been raised. The character interactions were the best here too, plus the ending is hard to top. Definitely this generation's Empire Strikes Back such that the kiddos were challenged as they walked out of the theater.
However, Endgame does have the best storytelling imo. Besides the biggest moments in the third act, that scene with 2014 Gamora and 2023 Nebula confronting 2014 Nebula is probably one of my favorites in the entire film. Clint realizes that he too can change despite having been a merciless mercenary because of so much pain. The entire first act slaps too imo.

Both around a 7/10 for me, but I think I prefer Endgame. I have to rewatch both to be sure, it's a close race. Infinity War feels a bit more consistent and cohesive, but on the other hand it just didn't hit me as hard as I hoped it did (especially considering the ending). Endgame is a bit less convential and all over the place (even though I do like that about it). It has some moments that I'm not the biggest fan of, but my favorite moments from these 2 movies are definitely in Endgame. And I felt Endgame handled its emotional/character power better than IW. Thanos was a very good villain, but I would almost say that I was more interested in the impact the character had (Endgame) than the character itself (Infinity War). Now that I'm writing this I feel more confident in saying that I prefer Endgame, but I like both.

It's funny. I loved Endgame when I saw it but the more I thought about it more, it wasn't the finale I wanted as much as I love that final third act. Infinity War displayed just a tad more ambition. So I'll go with IW.

I’ll go with Endgame. Everything about it was just so satisfying.

Infinity War is a far better film, I would say it's vastly better, but Endgame is more fascinating for its time travel issues.

Infinity War gets better every time I watch it.
Endgame is an embarrassment.

Infinity War was epic.
Endgame was great but some of it felt a bit off from pure goofiness. Like Professor Hulk and Thorbowski was a bit much for me. It was funny but felt out of place. I didn’t like Banner’s demeanor too much. I do understand why Thor would have went down the path he did, and again, it was laugh out loud funny... but just odd.

Infinity War is my favorite MCU movie it was the MCU at its peak. I loved Endgame upon release but after I rewatched it and had some time to process the movie it was still a good conclusion and in my top 10 MCU movies but I would've preferred something other than time travel as the solution, humor that was more like IW, less of Lebowski Thor and Professor Hulk and a shorter runtime or at least a quicker pace in the first two hours.
Overall I'd give Infinity War a 9/10 and Endgame an 8/10.

I view them as part 1 and 2 of the same movie. Me too actually, because i do think Endgame was a little better when i watched it right after i watched Infinity War So i guess i could say that Part 1 is better than Part 2.

I watched them both over the weekend in celebration of the one-year anniversary, and my opinion hasn't changed. I still prefer Endgame, but it's close.

IW by miles.
I had a lot of issues with Endgame. Thought the time travel shit was stupid but I understand why they went there I suppose. Plus, the Russo bros neutered Hulk and basically made him worthless. And don't even get me started on fat Thor. That was cringeworthy as hell. Cap picking up Thor's hammer was a cool moment though.
IW 8/10
Endgame 5/10

A lot has changed. it is the highest grossing film but this is where things finally fell apart for the MCU. Many people who knew and cared about films has had enough of the shortcoming mcu movies.
its weird, one year later and noone is talking about the film in the disney owned mass media.
