I was VERY young when... STAR TREK - The Motion Picture ...&... STAR TREK II - The Wrath of Khan ...came out. I don't have any MEMORIES of seeing them in the theater or not, but that doesn't mean that I didn't see the movies in some way before I saw... STAR TREK III - The Search for Spock.
I did see... STAR TREK III - The Search for Spock ...in the theater. I remember coming out of the theater and being saddened that the Enterprise had been destroyed...
I am not sure if I knew what the Enterprise was before I went and saw the film, but I think I did, and that is why seeing the Enterprise destroyed had such an impact on me.

What was the First "STAR TREK" Movie that you saw at the Movie Theater ? To my recollection Star Trek Generations 1994was the first one I saw on the big screen ( the second one was Star Trek: Nemesis 2002 ) . I actually haven't seen anymore Star Trek films on the big screen after that . Thanks so much anthonyrocks for your subject post .

Into Darkness. The 2009 film is what introduced me to Star Trek.

I worked in a theater when ST2 came out so I got to see it several times for free. It is the movie that brought me into the fandom as well. Apparently I wasn't the only one not familiar with Trek because nobody really knew too much about it other than 'Beam me up'. We got some little fold out flyer things with a mini poster and pics from the movie and a couple of the guys thought Saavik was Russian because of the red shirt she wore under her jacket. The summer of '82 had some good movies.

I've seen every one of them in the theater when they first came out.

The very first one.
Interestingly, when I first saw "Generations" (at the theatre) I had no idea who any of the characters were, as I had never watched a single episode of TNG at that point.

Star Trek II. I remember being so upset that Spock died at the end. Then as I walked out with my brother, somebody in front of us said "He comes back alive in the next one!" We couldn't believe it!
