Tell me Marvel fans, are you looking forward to the Princess of Themyscira's first cinematic outing? Having no affinity for the character personally, I do know fanfolk (both male and female) who adore her. That said, it would be disingenuous to deny her cultural legacy. Few of her solo stories have ever left a lasting impression on me. There was this one interesting Elseworld's story where she was in a circus or some such...
The first comic book I ever read that had a female protagonist that spoke to me was Elektra: Assassin.
Does DC finally have its first critical and financial success on its hands?

I'm excited about it. It was a bold choice to make it a period piece, but I really think it's a great setting for this character. Can't wait to see what they do with the material they have here. The trailers have been fantastic; of course, that's what trailers are supposed to do. I haven't been impressed with the DCEU as of yet (to put it mildly), but I have high hopes for this.

Its the fourth DCEU movie I am excited for before I see it. Hopefully it will be the first one I really enjoy. BvS wasnt that bad (not really good either) until the Martha thing happened but I did leave the theatre dissapointed. I have high hopes for WW though.

I'm honestly not interested in Wonder Woman at all, and mostly because the DCU has been embarrassingly poor and WW won't change that, even if it's good. What I mean is that imagine Iron Man had come out and was less than mediocre, and then they tried Civil War and it was embarrassing. And then for no real reason they did a Guardians film which was a mess. Would I then be excited for a Thor film? No. I wouldn't care until there was some level of consistency established and I could trust the product to head in a good direction. Without that, I'm not getting invested in a lazy effort to cash in on chasing the MCU, that DC is using their audience for. I have no plans to see Wonder Woman, and certainly won't in theater. If it's a good film, I will gladly see it, but I'm in no hurry and will catch it on an in flight movie or Netflix.

I'm not being rude when I say this, but by paying to go to the theater, you're just encouraging them to keep making movies that aren't that great. I'm being serious when I say, stop going. Just be patient and catch it later if you need to see it, and they'll start making better films. They haven't earned your continued interest, and they're just counting on you to pay to see their lazy effort. They're using you, and not giving you the effort you're paying for.

On the one hand, I've never been into Wonder Woman. On the other hand, I do like comic book movies. On the third hand, the DCEU has been underperforming.
I've never seen Gadot except in BvS which though bad was not her fault. So...I'm open to WW being good.

If it's a good film, I will gladly see it, but I'm in no hurry and will catch it on an in flight movie or Netflix. If I were to go strictly by the marketing, the film does look mildly intriguing. I'm referring specifically to the fact that it is set during the great war. I know Cap went there first but, a woman's perspective on the earlier conflict might be interesting (if they don't lean too hard on this stranger-in-a-strange land trope). As much as I enjoy Natasha Romanova's morally-gray stylings, I am longing for an unapologetic, morally-forthright female superhero. I've always felt Gadot's acting is a bit stiff (unless playing up her sexuality) - that shortcoming could work in her favor with Wonder Woman. What I don't like from the marketing is the fish-out-of-the-water characterization - everything has to be new and strange to her. It's a lazy way to comment on the plight of woman and the atrocities of the era. All you get from is cheap zingers. Beyond all that, I have no real opinion about the character or deep longing to see the film.

I have a subscription to the movie theatre. I pay 20 euro a month and I get to go to every movie I want. Only if I go 3D I have to pay 1.5 euro. So in fact they get a really small amount of my monthly fee.

When they start caring about their product, I'll start supporting it, but until then I'm not encouraging them with one dime to be as incompetent as they have been.

Never watched THE DARK KNIGHT, SUICIDE SQUAD, or GREEN LANTERN, but otherwise have seen pretty much every other major DC universe film. I'm really, really, really looking forward to WONDER WOMAN. She and Batman were always my favorites in the comics, and Superman had always been my favorite for the TV shows (mostly Dean C. in the 90s), so I have been excited for the new run of DC movies. I liked MAN OF STEEL (I'm still waiting for a Krypton prequel with Jor-El, Lara, and Zodd), I enjoyed B VS. S (not saying it was perfect), and I honestly can't wait to see WW. They've got Etta and Steve, we get to see Themyscira, and anything in WWI automatically gets my attention. I think it will be good, and I hope it does well so the studios figure out they can make money from female-lead superhero movies.

The Dark Knight Rises was lazy writing if I've ever seen it. I'll never watch it again. But you can't deny it was successful. 78 on Metacritic (one of the best for a comic book movie ever), over $1 billion at the box office, and an 8.5 IMDb score. That's pretty impressive success on the critical, general audience, and financial levels.

That's pretty impressive success on the critical, general audience, and financial levels. Sure so was Iron Man 3, and I don't think many argue that was the best film in the MCU. Most of the TDKR success is based on how undeniably good TDK was, and not on it's own merits.
Plus, I always stress that hitting a billion means nothing out of context. If Infinity War for instance, makes a billion even, it's not a success, because it should make far more than that. What I'm saying is that hitting a billion is a failure if you could have easily hit 2 billion, and the reason TDKR came up short of the TDK is for the reasons I stated in large part. There are many instances where it just felt lazy in terms of writing.

She is my second favorite DC Superhero, i really want the movie to be good but i don't have much faith in it. I'll still see it and i'll give them this: That theme music is pretty awesome!
