There were 100 nominations. So there will be two threads.
You can pick up to 16.
I confess that about half of these I don't know, but they were nominated, so they were epic to some people. It's a big world.
25 will advance. In the event of a tie which produces more than 25, if the tie for final entrants is 22nd or less, none of those 22nd or less will advance. If they tie for 21st or higher, there will be a "sudden death" tournament for those.
Yes, someone sure nominated a lot of Star Trek quotes. I confess I did two, I think, before realizing there were so many. I put them all in this thread.

I must admit I'm not acquainted with about half of the quotes in this one or the other thread, but I'm sure they are quite dramatic or comic, whichever the case, once one is acquainted with the shows. Need voters who know the quotes to chime in.

"Book em Dano"
"Ayyyyyyyy!"
"He's dead Jim."
I prefer: "Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor! Not a brick layer!"
There's also
"Beam me up, Mr Scott."
"Hailing frequencies open."
"Highly illogical."
Also
"Same bat time, same bat channel."
Or
"Hey little buddy."

My Goodness, We all really put in a lot of good ones in the 100. Yeah, you make a good point, and most, including me, agree with you. I hadn't heard of possibly half of these, but I can't base it on my experiences. Fact is, there can be no "mainstays" any more. I've been saying this for over twenty years, maybe for thirty years, that it's impossible to have lines that everyone knows or sees. Back in the seventies, thee were three stations, then four, for most people in the U.S.. Sure, a few rich families had cable, but most didn't. There was probably one cinema house within 30 miles for most people, maybe two drive ins. There were less than a thousand actors and actresses who regularly appeared on screen in movies or TV. In those days, there were catch phrases that eventually most people would know. That just simply isn't possible today. In fact, there probably aren't more than a dozen actors and actresses in the world that over a third of the world knows the names of. Quotes are no different. Very hard to become a "mainstay" any more. Maybe one of these "new" quotes is the new mainstay for a new generation. I don't know.

Very Well Said!

26 advance from this one, and 23 from the other, to make 49 that advance.
