Rate Daniel Craig's first outing as superspy James Bond...

I gave it a 9.
There are a couple of flaws, and I'm critical of the fact that it introduced the whole modern "dark, brooding Bond" (which isn't much like Fleming's books, in spite of what you've probably heard), but it's a great movie, very fast paced and intriguing, with full time devoted to all characters, enough time for wit and fun ("What bosh! Wit and fun? They're not allowed in 'realistic' movies nowadays!") and with Fleming's intelligent plotting kept intact.
A favorite of mine, just under From Russia with Love and Goldfinger in quality, I feel.

I actually gave this one a vote of 10 because it was my very first discovery of actor Daniel Craig in film . I also have the movie box set of the early Bond films on DVD and this movie was the recent new extra to that collection at that time too . The main theme song from this film was excellent as well . You Know My Name - Chris Cornell Thanks SuperDevilDoctor for your subject post .

9/10 for me, for the reasons Nalkarj listed above. Very suspenseful, and along with Skyfall, Craig's best, but I agree that the missing ingredient is a sense of fun. The Bond franchise never took itself too seriously, even with Connery's early outings. Bonus though for Eva Green, IMHO she's the sexiest and best Bond girl ever.

Being a traditionalist in every possible respect (e.g., politics, entertainment, girls), my vote is still for Daniela Bianchi, from From Russia with Love. But I see where you're coming from re: Miss Green.

This film had EVERYTHING right. From casting Daniel Craig to Eva Green. To bringing back Campbell to having a great script, and honestly the best "reboot" of that decade.

8/10. Really enjoyed it.
Edited to add: to me it's kind of the "Batman Begins" of the James Bond pantheon.

9/ 10 - it was great! Bond was sexy, vulnerable and young. The Bond girl was different than most and Mads was brilliant as the villain!!
