I still to this day have not watched any episodes "STAR TREK: DISCOVERY" (I have seen small bits and pieces of a dozen of them though) although I have heard a lot of good things about Anson Mount's performance as Captain Pike on it.

Nice. Half of the Discovery cast are super annoying so I fully support this.

I'm hoping they do what Anson Mount wants to do and have the show be stand alone eps, in the vein of TOS - there are enough serialised shows today, do something old school. Hopefully this doesn't end up on yet another streaming service internationally.

Again with the prequel crap! When are we going to get a series set farther into the future?

Yes but since most people believe it is pure crap, it is not considered real Star Trek.

No, There are people out there that actually do like "STAR TREK: PICARD" and do consider it "STAR TREK" and they're beliefs, feelings, views, considerations, thoughts, and opinions still count just as much as everyone's that doesn't like the show.

You need to learn to read and comprehend the actual words people say, most does not mean all, most people know drinking bleach is bad for you, some idiots however doubt this and still try it, most people know guns are dangerous weapons, some people treat them like toys however, though he is also not exactly right either, most people maybe a stretch, I have seen mostly negative reviews but most critics who reviewed it according to RT liked it, and it has a near fresh rating on the fan ratings also but not quite, so I would say it's more divisive, but then again most Trek shows aren't well received in their first season, for all we know Picard S2 could be the greatest series in Star Trek history, also it being bad doesn't make it not canon or real Star Trek.
I think one issue is though people want to see a continuation of the old Trek, the new stuff is very much less successful than the old stuff, but that may in part be due to them needing to make things noticeably different than the original run of shows prior to the JJ movies, could also have something to do with the current show runners being more heavy handed and less nuanced in how they try and tell their messages in the shows, but who knows.

No, "STAR TREK: PICARD" does indeed take place in the regular Star Trek Timeline and Universe.
It doesn't take place in the Kelvin Universe.

No, Romulus was destroyed by the very same super nova that was created to set off the very plot of the Kelvin Time Line: It's not canon. The super nova is the very event, the very idea, to set off the Kelvin Time Line...this show couldn't be more Kelvin Time Line. The Kelvin Time Line starts with this invented super nova.

LOL, What the heck do you mean "It's not canon." ?
The Super Nova and the Destruction of Romulus Happened!
They were in the Regular "STAR TREK" Timeline and Universe when they happened.

That's not a reason to say that it's not canon.
Those events happened!

LOL, Now I see what is happening here!
Hey, if you aren't a fan of both the JJ Abrams/Justin Lin Movies and "STAR TREK: PICARD" then that is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with that at all and you are absolutely 100 Percent entitled to your own thoughts, views, feelings, and opinions on both it and everything else in life. 100 Percent!
However....
Your own thoughts, views, feelings, and opinions still do not change the fact that "inside" the Regular Star Trek Timeline and Universe now, Those events did indeed happen and they are indeed canon now and that is final.
Now if you want to go on thinking, feeling, believing, and seeing that it isn't part of it then you absolutely can and have every right in the world to do that and there is definitely nothing wrong with that either.

Does it though? Picard was written when I think the OG timeline was off limits, though one owned the rights to the OG stuff both sides had to make everything distinctly different, which is why Discovery is also in it's own timeline, which they I believe tried to mislead people initially by referring to it as being set in the "Prime" timeline, Picard was filmed in it entireity prior to the announcement of the re-merger of VBS and Viacom iirc, so like the Kelvin movies and Discovery Picard would also have to fall into being in an alternative timeline, which is why though close to TNG the series Picard has some very glaring inconsistencies with the TNG timeline.
That being said it's still canon, and they could now retroactively try and say it's part of the OG timeline if they want, I just don't think it was initially, but it's also not in the Kelvin timeline either I don't think or could it be? is the planet Vulcan mentioned in Picard? I don't recall.

"Discovery is also in it's own timeline" -----------------------------------------------
I thought that that show took place in the regular universe 10 years before The Original Series ?

Must be otherwise why in no other series is the Discovery ever mentioned, at all, a ship capable of traversing the galaxy god knows how many times faster then the fastest star ship some 130 years later, even faster than the Borg, and why Spock's sister the first mutineer in Starfleet history again is never ever mentioned or alluded to?
