Working through the live-action Batman movies. Last night was 1995's Batman Forever. Loved it when I was 10. Now... not so much. Anyway, what's your take on Kilmer as the title character? He looks pretty good in the costume but his Bruce Wayne pretty bland, especially when compared to how Michael Keaton was able to bring personality to both.

Looks the part, but is mostly forgettable. I don't blame him for that though. Forever is a sloppy mess of a movie;not as bad as its followup but that's no excuse.

I thought he looked the part but he sure was stilted as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Still, it was my first Batman film in a theater and a nostalgic favorite.

I don't think he was that bad. Not perfect, but certainly not bad.

A bland Batman and a bland Bruce Wayne. He also looks weird, also in costume.

He was okay at best. He had the look, but the performance is kinda wooden.

He looks a little TOO good in costume. I've never seen a creature of the night with such lush lips. It was like having Derek Zoolander as Batman. Surprised he didn't defeat Two-Face with Blue Steel.
He's my least favorite onscreen portrayal. Even Clooney at least brought his Clooney charm and made for a convincing playboy. Kilmer didn't have any personality at all. Maybe he was trying to do a Keaton impression and be eccentric and offbeat, but it just came off wooden. When you're having scenes stolen by Chris O'Donnell, you're in trouble.

The movie is ok, and I think Kilmer was also ok. I like the couple Kilmer-Kidman, they were credible. My least favorite Batman is Clooney.

I myself thought that Val Kilmer was okay as Batman.
My own Top 2 Favorite Batmans are Christian Bale and Michael Keaton.

I missed Keaton when I first saw the film as a kid, but I honestly don't think Kilmer was a bad Batman. He looked the part and made a convincing Bruce Wayne to boot. There was none of Keaton's comic awkwardness around women. I still don't like the film itself, but Kilmer's Batman is not a major source of contention for me.

I think he's the most well balanced Bruce/Batman I've ever seen on screen.

I will actually never forget the day that I went to the Movie Theater and saw "BATMAN FOREVER" for the very first time.
It was a very sad day for me and my family.
I was 11 years old at the time (I am 36 now) and it was actually the Movie's Opening Day.
However.....me, my younger brother, and my mom all first woke up that morning and learned that my dad had passed away.
Later that day, My Step-Grandfather saw how upset and sad me and my brother were and so while my Grandmother stayed with my Mom, he took me and my brother to the Movie Theater to go and see the Movie just as a distraction from everything for a couple of hours.
LOL, I do remember after the Movie was over and the 3 of us were walking out of the theater my Step-Grandfather said that he will never go and see another Jim Carrey Movie at the Movie Theater ever again and he still to this very day hasn't.
