"You make me wish I had three hands!"
Still an entertaining sci-fi film and one of director Paul Verhoeven's best. Probably even one of Schwarzenegger's best as well (or at least above average). Compared to other sci-fi films, it feels more thought-provoking even though it still is action-packed and violent. Nice to see Schwarzenegger play more of an everyman compared to some of his muscle-bound, super-strong characters. It may fall short of being one of the sci-fi genre's best films, but it's still a good yarn. The visual effects are still pretty good for their time.
Maltin Movie Guide Review:
Total Recall (1990) - 3 out of 4 stars
"Schwarzenegger learns he's a victim of mind-tampering in this 21st-Century tale--and once he discovers his true identity, journeys to Mars to help fight a power-hungry madman there. Riveting yarn (based on Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale") offers endless twists and intriguing ideas....and the kind of over-the-top violence for which director Verhoeven is known. Dazzling, Oscar-winning special effects throughout."

6/10. Solid sci-fi/action fare. Miles ahead of the atrocious 2012 remake.

The only thing that I liked about the 2012 Remake was Kate Beckinsale.

A great film whose ambiguousness is still great to explore.
Also I can't ever say 'two weeks' without stretching it out and shaking my head furiously.

One of the best times you can have is sitting back and watching this with some friends. It’s such a great action movie.

When it comes to All of the characters in "TOTAL RECALL", I think that my own Number 1 Favorite character in it is 'Richter' (Michael Ironside).
Michael Ironside did a Really Great Job playing him.

It's one of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger films. It has some funny one-liners, gritty action sequences, and some interesting characters.
