I am no longer collecting DVDs. It's waste of money.. BUT, I still collect the "experience" of watching movies and then record what I just watch on the thread " What movie did YOU just FINISH watching?" By recording them there, I have a record (with time and date) of what I watched and when. And, at the same time...I am sharing my movie watching with those, here, who may be interested. After all, the best things in life are those you SHARE with others, and you people here are the only ones I can find with a passion for movie watching. Right? I generally stream movies from YouTube....Amazon Prime (with STARZ) and Netflix. OR DVR them from TCM. I generally get caught up in phases: For example: Right now, I am into watching the Robert Altman movies I had missed from the past as well as re-watching some I had not watched recently-----I am finding I am not generally a great Altman fan. Also, at the same time. I have been trolling Barry Levinson movies. So, I am also in Barry Levinson phase at the same time. Rarely am I disappointed with a Levinson movie.... but it does happen from time to time. I just started realizing that Director Mike Leigh movies might be worth exploring, so I have rented and qued up about everything by Mile Leigh that I can rent for streaming from Amazon Prime (with STARZ). Here is the que I have lined up to watch now: All or Nothing (2002) Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) Another Year (2010) Peterloo (2018) So, question is: do you plan your movie watching? What are you interested in right now? Do you go though phases also? Do the things mentioned here, on this Board affect what I might be interested in? YOU BET THEY DOWhy, one thread here, might throw me into yet another movie "phase."

I am no longer collecting DVDs. It's waste of money.. I will continue collecting and buying DVDs and Blu-rays, as long as it is possible and my interest for them are there, but due to the very special last few months, none of the movie stores I weekly travel to are open or have shut down for a long period, and I also have noticed how expensive the prices suddenly have gotten up to, through Amazon or similar internet sites, so I have used Youtube, which to my surprise have all these very hard to find/rare movies often lying there, and it is stupid not to take advantage of that, instead of blowing out lots of money on what will pretty much 9 out of 10 times be either a forgettable movie or a complete stinker. So, I guess it is not a bad idea of stop wasting my money on far too many poor/terrible impulse purchases, but there are of course those films that are really good/great and I really want in my collection, and sometimes one of those more pleasant impulse buys, turns out to be quite a big success, and that is probably the main reason to why I will continue on, as far as it is possible off doing so. So, question is: do you plan your movie watching? What are you interested in right now? Do you go though phases also? I really try to do this, specially during the weekend, I will go through my movie collection, or look through the unseen/watched DVDs-Blu-rays, or try to search up on Youtube for titles that is very hard or just far too expensive to find or purchase, but have been in my watchlist for over a decade, and then pick it down to a certain amount of titles that I will or might have interest in seeing from friday to sunday night. Of course, how I feel is also a very important factor, sometimes I am in the mood for just a very "simple" easy going entertainment, either comedy, over-the-top b-movie action or some teen-slasher from the 80s. But nowdays I feel not that "motivated" and end up with less planned titles/movies to see, and more in the "I just watch whatever comes to my mind", and right now, I also watch a lot of british crime series (Midsomer Murders, the one with John Nettles, not the other one) and read books, listen to music albums and I just do not have time to watch 3-5 movies a day, so carefully planning of what movies I will want to see, that might have to wait for a while. I do have big plans for july-august, hopefully, to go through lots of slasher and summer-themed related horror and comedies, specially from the 70s, 80s and early 90s, so I have sort of, my "work" cut out, but I also had huge plans of this, last summer, and it did not go down very well.

I plan the days viewing by selecting films I don’t want to miss on cable, TCM, FX RETRO, ETC. Then I add selections from streaming sources.
I still buy dvd’s When I really want to see something that is not on streaming. Recently I have bought One Two Three.

I used to buy DVD like crazy. I stopped when they forced you to buy the Blu-ray along with the DVD. I still do buy DVD now and then, but not often.
I get my movies from Netflix, TV, and other streaming services. I don't have a plan to watch movies. Lots of time, I usually just watch something on a whim, or something just pop on TV. In fact, I don't watch that many movies nowadays, more documentaries than movies. I do try to catch up on the recent movies during the year end from December to February, right around the Award season. I still go to the cinema maybe 2 to 3 times a year, only with friends.
That's my movie habit for now.

Normally I have a few ideas of what I'm thinking of watching next week, but then I read a little here and there and change my mind and watch other movies instead.
Movies I read about on this site that I think sounds interesting, I make a few notes about it the old fashioned way, pencil and paper.

My viewing has pretty much been based on the anniversary of premiere be it cinema, TV, or VHS. I usually map out the dates at least two months ahead.

Well usually Mondays are repeats. Tuesdays, I more often than not watch movies from between 1955-1966. Thursdays, 1967---onward, but also sometimes movies from pre-1960. Fridays, tv shows and movies made after 1986. Saturdays, anything goes but usually films from the 1970s. Occasionally I watch movies on Sundays but usually repeats.
