Pixar - Known for their high quality entertainment. Admired by audiences and critics alike. Has had an insane run of success. Their closest rival is a very distant also-ran.
Marvel Studios - the same.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is about to open. Once again critics are lovin' it. It's currently holding steady at 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Audience anticipation is sky high. It should be another monster hit for Marvel.
Which is remarkable. A trash talking space raccoon? Doctor Strange? Antman? How the hell does Marvel manage to turn these obscure comic book characters into critically acclaimed boxoffice gold when their closest competitor can't even get the iconic Batman and Superman right? How many Razzies did BvS win?
Marvel (and Pixar) are playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

GotG 2 was dull and predictable, like pretty much everything Marvel has produced in the last few years. They have a formula and they stick to it and the great unwashed love it. For me Pixar are (or rather were) the greater creative force. For a while there they produced truly wonderful, creative, and unique films.

They are the new Hanna Barbara. Their movies are silly, cartoonish, derivative and lack any real depth or sense of danger. Yet, they make a lot of money and get pumped out like boy bands because a lot of children and adults (Americans) eat up their bland and inoffensive product.
The MCU is the McDonald's of filmmaking.

'great unwashed' LOLOL, sucks to be on the outside looking in so you've gotta lash out at the cool kids. Weird how you can't just not like something popular, you have to insist it's because you're better than everyone else. Pitiful.

I love dunces who just hack at their keyboards and occasionally sentences are formed. By way of example to simply highlight how made up your statement was, Ant-Man made $178 million in the US and nearly $300 million in China. But yeah, it's Americans fueling it. Learn how box offices work before you just open your trap and reveal that you have no idea what you're talking about, or was there something else you wanted to pull out of your ass in the hopes of disparaging something in the hopes that people would share your worldview?

The problem with superhero movies these days is that Marvel has saturated the market. Even a good product can get tedious after a while. My comparison between Marvel and Pixar isn't about their creativity. Pixar wins out in that regard*. It's their similar domination, consistency and success in their respective markets that I'm talking about. Marvel makes it look so easy ... then you watch a train wreck like BvS ... and you realize that not everyone can do what they do. * Personally, I think the best superhero movie ever is The Incredibles.

I'll be in SF for work in a few weeks. We going to Hogwash again? I don't go to gay bars. Like your Gold's Gym near Palestine TX lie, you neglected to do your research. www.yelp.com/biz/hogwash-san-franciscoI ctrl+F'd my way through 10 pages of yelp reviews and not a single instance of the word 'gay' was found. I did notice a few people mentioning a boyfriend/girlfriend where the reviewer was of the opposite sex. I tried googling 'Hogwash san francisco gay' and the first result is See? missing 'gay' 593 reviews. I also tried 'Hogwash san francisco lgbt' and there are NO results suggesting it's a gay bar. I googled 'gay bars in san francisco' and there's about 20 places listed. None of them is Hogwash. You're a fucking liar. You're a shitty liar. You're a lazy liar.
