If anyone here is interested, I have started a " Hitchcock Survivor Game" over on the "Other Games" board. Rules (as far as I know them) are here, but basically you vote for your least favorite of the choices presented, and we're trying to whittle it down to only one favorite.

Salzmank, Neat-Idea!
Will check back tomorrow to view the results.
I take it that when the list narrows or our favorite is picked- we have to convince others to keep our favorites on the list? or it goes.
gotcha.

I mean, before the round is over (tomorrow night around 8 pm, I'm thinking), you can try to persuade others to come over to your side even now. But, as you say, it's better to do it at a later date, to keep your favorites on the list.

OK, just so you all know, the round is still open till 8 o'clock EST, so there's still time to get in there and vote, vote, vote!
(I know, this is all so dramatic.)

Please get out there and vote!
(I wish I could hand out those little "I Voted" stickers, ridiculous though they may be...)

Round Two has begun.
You are now allowed to pick any two Hitchcocks to vote off.
After Round Three, we'll be switching to proportional representation instead.

I've been monitoring the results of your game, but I hope you don't mind my declining to participate in the picking-off, one by one or two by two, of Hitchcock's films ( "Come and shoot lovely ducks!" - or even turkeys, as the case may be). It does strike me, though, that Hitchcock himself might have relished the format, given his retroactive disowning of a number of his films (you mischievous li'l devil, you), as might Agatha Christie, come to think of it. For the record, I very much like two of the more prominent targets: Sabotage and Stage Fright. But although I've found something to appreciate in nearly every one of his films, I've never yet been able to make it through Under Capricorn in one sitting. So much for my kibbitzing. And I hope you'll excuse me for that as well. I may not be much of a "joiner," but when it comes to Hitchcock, I always have an opinion.

Doghouse6 = I agree. Although I acknowledge Topaz as a pretty dull movie it does have a couple of memorable scenes, more than can be said for the totally forgettable Under Capricorn. The only thing I recall from that shocker was looking at the clock praying for it to end.

Just for the record, I quite like Sabotage as well, and you know my (mostly positive) thoughts on Stage Fright. While I understand looking at it as "picking off Hitchcock's films," as a fellow Hitchcock-lover, I'd prefer to see it as seeing how people think on each film and what elements they prefer in a more "fun" format—if that makes any sense! But no worries about looking in on the sidelines. As a non-voter in the game myself (except to break ties), I'm interested in others' opinions too. And, yes, as always, I am indeed a mischievous devil!
