and you had the flexibility to do so, would you rather live in the city, the suburbs, or in a rural community?

I've never been to Alaska but that's one state I have always wanted to visit for an extended period of time. It's so beautiful, and as bizarre as this sounds, I'm intrigued by the long nights.

I enjoy living in a small town. With all that's going on in the metro areas now days you couldn't pay me to live there

I'm a city boy. I like being close to the shops and other amenities.

Ill take the country over a city hands down in general. just more all around peaceful etc. the cities are generally where all of the trash is and is noisy etc. look at all of the current riots etc just further proves my point.
with that said.... I am not talking about living in the middle of no where level of country, but enough out of the city.

Suburbs or rural, always. The city is dirty, noisy and overpopulated.

Where London is concerned living in the city would be central London and I have never experienced living there. I would love to afford to do that as I love the hustle and bustle of the city and it’s easy to get to the rural areas if I need a break.

"Ill take the country over a city hands down in general. just more all around peaceful etc. the cities are generally where all of the trash is and is noisy etc. look at all of the current riots etc just further proves my point." Exactly. And as Caesar said: "Suburbs or rural, always. The city is dirty, noisy and overpopulated" How anyone could want to live in the first picture over the second picture I'll never know.

A city doesn’t have to be just crowds of people crossing a busy street.

Been living in a town/small city (about 14000 population) for....pretty much my whole life. I prefer it.
When I went to university, the city in which it was had a population of about 60000. It was good. Not too big, and not too small.

The burbs!!
I can visit a city any time.
I grew up on a farm where the nearest neighbor was a quarter mile away. Great place to grow up. But I wouldn't feel safe there now.

I like living in a rural area where I can just drive into the city to get whatever it is that I need to. It doesn't preclude the idea of even visiting somewhere, like if I want to travel to a place like Paris or Tokyo, enjoy what the city has to offer while having fun.
Or being less exotic, I like the idea of living in a rural area where I have peace and quiet, lots of greenery, the random doe showing up in my backyard. And my sentry (Mr. Toad). Yet just be able to drive to small markets, and a little further for a larger city, and return to my sanctuary.
The only time I can imagine wanting to live in the city is if I worked long hours in the city for a VERY high paying job, in the city, and it made the walk or public transport worth it. Really $$ worth $$ it. Or if I were a college student and not living on campus.

I like rural areas, and I've never cared for crowded urban areas, so the choice is easy, regardless of Covid.
