The Ghost And Mr. Chicken is probably the best of your bunch. It's the one I like the most. Look, it is what it is; and yes, it has the production values of a movie of the week of its era; and yet for all its cliches and predictable moments (most of the picture is easy to guess), I've always found it a pleasure to watch just to see something that's both very old-fashioned and skillfully made, for all the talent that went into it. The Killer Shrews was an okay, but nothing special kind of picture. It went through the paces, offered no surprises, featured a decent cast; and it was, alas, stuck with a mediocre script, and cheap production values, with the latter word questionable; it was a just plain cheap production. I've either missed or avoided the other two films, and can't even remember doing that. Their titles are probably what kept me away.

Damn, I loved The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. It was shown a lot on the NYC stations when I was a kid. had a nice blend of humor (Don Knotts nearly peeing himself) and horror (hey, the bloody keys on the organ was creepy to a 10 year old kid). Okay, Don Knotts character was just Barney Fife without the uniform but it was a hoot. I watched it during the holidays and it held up well.
ATTA BOY, LUTHER!
