This reminds me of this book: Also featuring among others Lee Child, Michael Connelly, Jeffery Deaver, Ian Rankin and John Connolly

I read the Jack Reacher books but they are pretty much the literary equivalent of "fast food". Quite a skill to get people to read what is pretty much the same book 20 or so times.

Connelly's Charlie Parker books are wonderfully written at times, very Southern gothic. Bosch books are still a must read also.

The series is pretty close to the books although each season tends to cover two or three of the books. Great theme music too.
