Aren't Tottenham fans frequently subjected to anti-Semitic chants by supporters of other teams? and yet their fans show racist behaviour? Wow.

I was looking at a flat right near White Hart Lane a few months ago to let out. I've scrapped those plans now, the flat was tiny for 200k anyway, going to do something else with the deposit money, but it doesn't seem as bad round there as the reputation suggests. Obviously it is going to be a lot different on a matchday, and it isn't exactly Hampstead or Kensington, but I think they get a lot of fans coming in from just outside London on the train from old BNP and UKIP areas like Cheshunt, but I dunno, I always thought Chelsea fans were worse, and Millwall... and West Ham. Obviously, Robbie is a minor celebrity now, so there is gonna be big sign over his head when he goes to Tottenham now, which is going to bring out the worst in the most stupidest of fans.

Tottenham fans frequently chant "yiddo yiddo" and there is a bit of controversy about that, because some people say a 'yid' is an offensive term for a Jew, but Tottenham fans, I think, use it as a form of affection because of the high amount of Jewish fans they have. I know a few Spurs fans, and I know they are definitely not anti-semetic, but they used to use that chant, but I don't think they were even aware that it might have been offensive. David Baddiel, a Jewish football fan (but supports Chelsea so maybe he isn't the best person to ask on this) says Jewish Tottenham fans have to awkwardly sit in silence while their own fans chant stuff like "yid army", I didn't know this till he brought it up a few years ago, but I suppose Spurs Jewish fans would be the best people to ask on this matter.

I went to White Hart Lane in the 80s to watch a match, might have been early 90s actually, Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker were playing, stood in the family enclosure near the centre line, there were quite a lot of other kids with Yarmulkes on I seem to remember standing near the front. I haven't been since. The area itself isn't Jewish at all though.

However - NW4 (i think) - I drive through london so much - i s the major UK Jewish 'area' - and Tottenham FC is closest football club to that area. All the same Tottenham have more non jewish fans that go to games than jewish.

I think Barnet FC is closer, but they are shite. And actually I think Arsenal is closer as they are more Westerly than Tottenham, but I suppose Arsenal is a bit more southerly so maybe it isn't. Not much in it though.
