Kings collections are usually pretty solid overall. Theres usually a few bad eggs but for the most part I tend to really enjoy his short story work. This one is no different.
The ones that stood out as quite enjoyable were...
The Things They Left Behind, which dealt with 9/11 fallout as a man who called in sick that day is haunted by his former coworkers. I had weirdly been more interested in 9/11 stuff the past few years. I don't know if its some morbid curiosity that finally kicked in but this story struck a chord for that reason mostly. N, Kind of a trippy, almost hallucinogenic story about obsessive compulsion and its weird ties to potentially the universe. I don't know youd have to read it but I dug it. A Very Tight Place, Man locked in portajohn, it falls face down on its door, cant get out. A nice tale of claustrophobia and spiteful neighbors.
Those were prob my 3 favorite. The rest ranged from ok to somewhat boring. But that's the best thing about short story collections. Even the boring ones only last a couple dozen pages.

I recall reading this short story collection a few years ago. I do tend to like his collections. Full Dark, No Stars is a very good collection of 4 short stories (really novellas).insert code here

Hearts in Atlantis is my fave although it’s very interconnected and reads more like a novel. Four Past Midnight was also a great group of 4 stories, Langoliers being my fave.

I loved Hearts in Atlantis! And yes, Four Past Midnight also has some really good stories.
