Including the main ones, the best known, along with earliest and latest, and most unusual, even a non credited role just for variety. Hard to pick which to omit.

Totally amazed that SOME LIKE IT HOT and THE APARTMENT lead. I never understood the love for those ordinary movies. I really expected the leaders to be either his classic daring ones (MISSING, THE CHINA SYNDROME) or the standout comedies (MR. ROBERTS, ODD COUPLE, GRUMPY OLD MEN).
But I respect the choices. i just don't understand them.

I've seen 21 of those movies.
Top 5.
1. JFK 2. The China Syndrome 3. Days of Wine and Roses 3. The Apartment 4. Glengarry Glen Ross
I actually dislike The Odd Couple quite a bit. It is an unfunny and dull imo.

I never understood the love for the top two THE APARTMENT and SOME LIKE IT HOT, which I thought were lame, dull comedies, but it appears that many people genuinely like these two. Of the two, I'd pick the Apartment, even though it's too dry for me, but SOME LIKE IT HOT just fails in the attempts at humor, though Lemmon does a great job. It's the material that is bland to me. But this time I will admit that people genuinely like these two. Don't understand it at all, and I'm totally trained and expert in seeing other people's view points. Sometimes, they have none, but here I think their viewpoint is just a desire to live in a safe world amid troubles. I can see how relating to the characters may be comforting, but for me it's just not well thought out enough.
Looks like these two will compete for the win, though.

Can't understand it one bit, but winning is THE APARTMENT, with SOME LIKE IT HOT in second. I have no idea why these are beloved. They're dull IMO, and pale next to the great films he's done, like MISSING, but those are the results.
