I give it a 4/10.
Usually, leading men are given younger leading ladies in order to make them look younger too. This movie starts with a flashback in the early 70s where the protagonists are under 10, so they're around 50 in present time. Are they trying to make Rachel McAdams look 10 years older, while still making Will Ferrell look good?

Well , I'm still on the fence as far as scoring , Vits . Maybe my score will clear while commenting on this . Anyway , it is basically a musical comedy , that is a feel-good story . Will Ferrell as the Icelandic hopeful pop singer for the World's Largest Music Contest is hilarious , which is very funny . It works . Rachel McAdams as his singing partner since childhood , who is a good singer but somewhat clueless is also very amusing . Neither of them can figure why they need each other so much , which of course is love . The overall theme of the movie is a predictable story , but some interesting facts: Eurovision is the world's largest music contest , and it was cancelled this year , performers who had won their regional contests earlier in the year will perform next year , but possibly not even then . Will Ferrell's wife is Swedish and Will spends his holidays every year in his wife's country . And Eurovision is the big event in Europe every year . I had heard Rachel McAdams may have European relatives as well . In the movie , there is a party where many of the previous performers and winners appear together . At the real Eurovision , there are lots of parties you can go to . The movie is a huge success in Europe , where it replaced The Eurovision Show . As a fun musical comedy , I think it's worth an 8/10 .
