What's going to be different in January? They keep talking about a vaccine, and the numbers going down. If they go down enough, if they go down to zero by then, we might no longer have an issue. But I have said "might" and "maybe". Well, I keep hearing that Spring 2021, will be the very earliest, for any vaccine to start making it's way out to the general population... and that's IF we are lucky that one is developed that works, it passes testing for NO long term side effects, it gets approval for use, and enough of it gets manufactured quickly... I doubt that all that will happen by Spring 2021. Plus... Cold & Flu season is usually during the winter months, including January... and if things are bad now, during the summer months, it's more than likely to be worse five months from now... If we "shouldn't" be sending kids back into the schools now, then I don't see how we can send them back in January. Unless, some kind of miracle happens quickly... This is going to be a very long term issue. This has become a "Risk VS Reward" issue... For some families, "Home" schooling is the best option, for them... For other families, sending their children back into the schools is what they feel is best for their children, especially if Covid-19 is still going to remain a major concern for several years.

Here in Indianapolis, IN... Many Schools are opening again on August 03... Five days a weeks, with full in class instruction... Using the same approved school year schedule, that was planned before this pandemic came along. However, Face Masks and Social Distancing with be implemented to the fullest extent possible, and whenever possible... And there are strict "sickness" protocols that students must follow when they get sick, and before they come back to school. For those parents/students that don't want to return at this time, there are Online/E-Learning options available to them. Schools also have back up plans read to go, in case schools are ordered to shut down again. Read all of the details here: www.ltschools.org/re-entryHey, I live in Franklin! We're neighbors!
