I just went and it seems less people shopping.
Saturday morning should have been packed.
There are no hams but otherwise it seemed like the shelves were packed.
What are your observations?

Catman shops at 7 AM, so it's rarely crowded. Usually more employees than customers.

Fortunately, I don't need anything, so I haven't been out. But, generally, there seems to be less activity on my street than there had been lately.
Gov. Newsom added us to the "watch list," of counties that have had a spike in Covid cases. That means that some "openings," have been closed again. I think that may account for more folks staying in.

When I shop, I go very early and wear a mask, some shoppers still don't wear a mask or wear one incorrectly, many leave their nose uncovered or they just have it dangling around their neck. I have noticed there is still a shortage of paper towels, liquid soap, and hand sanitizers. Cleaning stuff is also in short supply. Cannot find my favorite shower spray for cleaning. The frozen food shelves are about 1/3 empty. I'm still seeing ham slices but no whole hams. Lunch meat is also low in inventory as well as canned soup. Prices continue to go up.

Went to a Walmart (shudder, but they have the best deals on cat food) Friday and it was somewhat nightmarish: armed cops at all of the entrances, inside and outside; and this one at least was refusing to accept cash payments--cards only. A lot of people were coming up to the checkouts and having to leave their stuff because they had cash only, and nothing had been posted when entering the store telling shoppers that, only signs posted at each of the registers.
To make it worse, we pass the county food bank on the way to this store location, and there was a line of cars about a mile long (not exaggerating) waiting to get in. Supplemental unemployment benefits have just ended in our state, and a lot of folks must have been caught short on either paying rent/mortgage/bills or buying food. It was a bit frightening, looking a little like what the beginning of societal collapse might very well resemble.
A bad scene all around.

I refuse to go into a Walmart now, to me a Walmart store is like a petri dish full of virus. I get the majority of my cat food from Chewy.

I have been shopping once a week. The store is well stocked now, except for certain things. Like WKM indicated the paper products are still in short supply with a limit on purchases. Also dish soaps, hand soaps and disinfectant sprays. Still can't find Lysol. I also can't find my soft butter Brummel and Brown spread. I asked and they said they couldn't get it when they ordered and then just stopped trying. I miss it. Roast beef hash was missing for over a month from the shelves but it's back now. Meat prices skyrocketed for awhile and have since come down, but not as cheap as before the virus. I was lucky to find T-bone and ribeyes at a fairly cheap price so put several packages in the freezer. They will last awhile because one is enough to share between the two of us. We don't eat a lot of meat anyway. My grocery bill has almost doubled since the virus started.
I ordered a lot of different staples on Amazon for awhile instead of buying them in the store. I thank them in my mind every day for being there when I needed them. The drivers (and our UPS driver) work long, hard hours and I'm thankful for them.

Was at Whole Foods at about 9:30. Fairly empty. Saw one guy with his mask hanging from one ear and gave him an angry look. No line at the register. Only area where I saw less than the usual amount of stuff was the packaged breads section.

My grocery bill seems to have doubled during all of this madness. I buy for my mom also, so the bill is substantial. Everyone in the stores are wearing masks....signs posted mandating their use. I still find in the small town close to me that the individually owned businesses aren't following the regulations. The lawn mower shop, the car repair shop, etc. None of the worker OR customers are wearing masks.
