Special thanks to alpha128 for inspiring this thread. www.imdb.com/name/nm0664624/This is how I mostly remember Eddie. Kirk: This is mutiny! Lt. Leslie: Yes, sir, it is. I didn't know it until rather recently, but Eddie was driving the truck that killed Edith Keeler, thus allowing Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to return to the future that never would have existed if Edith Keeler had lived. Harlan Ellison never explains how they come back, but hey, pointing out a Harlan Ellison inconsistency is like saying the emperor is walking around buck naked. At least he didn't pull his name off this episode like he was wont to do with Outer Limits and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but I digress. Also, when Scotty is suspected of murder, and you see him place his hand on the lie detector thingy, that was actually Eddie Paskey's hand, as James Doohan was missing a finger. War injury maybe. I think he was a pilot flying an artillery observation plane for the Canadians, but I'm not sure, and I'm digressing again. Anyway, thanks Eddie for your often-overlooked contributions to Star Trek. Live long and prosper.

But I didn't know until just now that he received multiple injuries, and they were the result of friendly fire.

It's bad enough being shot, but being shot by your own guys is too much irony.

Oh yeah, I also liked that scene from "And the Children Shall Lead" when Kirk is trying to talk to him and the words are garbled.

Thanks, Alpha128. Oh yeah, I also liked that scene from "And the Children Shall Lead" when Kirk is trying to talk to him and the words are garbled. You're welcome. I like that scene as well, but not so much the rest of the episode. One of the weaker episodes of the series IMO.
