Richard Brooks "Looking For Mr. Goodbar" - it was so dark and dirty (and didn't like it)
If I hadn't seen the credits, I would have never though it was him, the man who did "Elmer Gantry", "The Professionals", "The Happy-Ending", etc...

Brett Ratner mostly seems mostly known for doing goofy comedy action films, I was rather suprised when I found he directed "Red Dragon" (a movie I really liked)

Jean-Pierre Jeunet: Alien: Resurrection (1997) I only learned today from another thread that this was by the director of Amélie.
David Lynch: The Straight Story (1999) More like something from Alexander Payne (cf Nebraska 2013)
Busby Berkeley: They Made Me a Criminal (1939)

Peter Farrelly - Green Book If you think about it, what does this guy like more than a road trip comedy? Dumb And Dumber 1 and 2, Kingpin, Me Myself and Irene. Even There's Something About Mary to an extent.

Guillermo del Toro - Pacific Rim Really? But he's made a lot of other action/sci-fi/fantasy movies. It's a much bigger film than anything else he did...more an epic blockbuser, more scifi than his other films, and visually it seems more toned down than his other work.
