OK I've looked into it a bit, I can see why whiny blue haired college kids might be complain about it, the movie is very much about an angry white guy fed up with the system (to some that could be interpreted as "alt right"). But this film does sound like a critique on wealth inequality and the problems that arise from it (which is of course is more of a left wing ideaology).

If the radical left and sjws complain about something, you know that thing is doing something right. Long live Joker Why would "radical leftists" hate it? I haven't seen it, but from my understanding it gives a critique of capitalism and wealth inequality and the class tensions that arise from it. If anything the film sounds rather Marxist. It glorifies white male incel violence apparently.

The 4th highest grossing film in the UK that year. Of all those millions that saw it it had 20 complaints!! Bit of a non-story
